We stayed 6 days in this wonderful hotel and it was the HIGHLIGHT of our trip in Sri Lanka!!! The hotel is located in front of the beach and guarantees full immersion in the natural frame with the breathtaking view on the sea and at same time with the comfort and services of the luxury hotel. Furthermore, it is close to interesting tourist areas, amazing beaches, restaurants,…The hotel is modern, cosy, furnished with great taste and sense of details, everything is perfectly clean, the swimming pool is amazing, the food is delicious!!! And the kindness and helpfulness of the owners and staff are just outstanding and make you feel being home. THANK YOU for the stay that we will remember as one of our best hotel stays!

Amazing tree house in the jungle. We can able to cook a dinner because the chicken are small but with all supplies.

I was happy about to find a location next to the Mainbeach and also a cheap one :) The room was cleaned and you got everything you need. In Addition, we meet the houseowners and they were really kind and opened (family), so that they invited us to have a nice sitover with them !;)

My recent stay at Charming Dark Lodge in River was nothing short of exceptional, marking it as the best homestay experience I have ever encountered. From delicious lunches and dinners to delightful surprises and the most mouth-watering fish barbecue - probably the best meal I have had in the two months I have been in Sri Lanka. A particularly memorable moment was celebrating my birthday during our stay. Our host went above and beyond to ensure it was an unforgettable occasion, adding a personal touch that truly made me feel special. Without a doubt, if I ever find myself in Sri Lanka again, Charming Dark Lodge will be my first choice for accommodation.
