The room was really clean (best tidiness and cleaning we had in New Zealand) and had everything we needed. A 5-minute drive away is the Tonui Lucid Cafe, which we recommend for breakfast; the view is beautiful and the food delicious. We arrived around 5 p.m. at the accommodation, had a wonderful chat with the hosts, and left our luggage there. We still made it to the grand dunes to surf a little in the sand. Afterwards, there was still time to check out Cape Reingas lighthouse in a marvellous sunset. After a good night's sleep, we went to eat breakfast at the Lucid Cafe, checked out the Gumdiggers Forest, and continued to the Maitai Beach (we absolutely recommend this beach!). So, the place has a perfect location.

Featuring garden views, Mangawhai Modern features accommodation with a shared lounge and a patio, a 5-minute walk to Mangawhai Village and its shops, cafes and swimming spot. Lynne was fabulous and very helpful while respecting our privacy. Nice modern house with spacious quarter. Highly recommanded. Great value.
