Greenwood safari camp

Talek

With garden views, Greenwood safari camp is set in Talek and has a restaurant, a 24-hour front desk, bar, garden, sun terrace and outdoor fireplace. This campground offers free private parking, full-day security and free WiFi. The accommodation features a shuttle service, while a car rental service is also available. We had an amazing stay at Greenwood. Price quality is excellent and I really would not have changed it for a 600 euro a night lodge! Magdy is a super nice person, gave us a free tent upgrade and helped us with everything (safari, balloon flight, rides to Nairobi). The tents are good and the whole camping looks really nice, you can relax in the hammocks, take a swim in the pool and go for a small walk to the river (where you also have amazing sunsets).

Talek Bush Camp , Masai Mara

Talek

Located in Talek in the Narok region, Talek Bush Camp, Masai Mara features a balcony. Featuring a 24-hour front desk, this property also provides guests with an outdoor fireplace. There is a sun terrace and guests can make use of free WiFi and free private parking. The location was by the river Talek, so I got to see a lot of animals who used to come to the riverside for drinking water. It was quite convenient location to start the safari, and relax later in the night. I met some amazing co-travellers there, and enjoyed Maasai dance with the Maasai Tribe on the weekend. The founder of the camp - "Mostafa" is an amazing host. He is very kind and helpful. He helped me with transportation and the safari. The food was very nice, and all the staff were respectful and helpful. It's the best camp, with great value for money!

Maasai homestay camping is situated in Sekenani. Guests staying at this apartment have access to a fully equipped kitchenette. The accommodation features a 24-hour front desk, full-day security and currency exchange for guests. This is one of the most authentic and emotional experience you can have with Jacob and his loving family. We had terrific time during our three day stay. We held their family raised baby sheep; had delicious home made food and drove to the boarder of Tanzania to see the big 5. Don’t hesitate.

Enkusero Mara

Aitong

Located in Aitong, Enkusero Mara offers accommodation with seating area. This luxury tent provides free private parking, free shuttle service and free WiFi. Boasting family rooms, this property also provides guests with an outdoor fireplace. Enkusero is a small boutique camp, owned and run by William who is a local Masai, a passionate host and an excellent guide with15 years of experience. He took us for tailor- made safaris and went out of his way to show us the Big Five and countless other wonderful creatures. The location was fantastic and ideally located to visit the Masai Mara reserve. Our tent was luxurious and beautifully furnished . They had wooden decks with large verandas, for us to enjoy the sight of zebras, wildebeest and gazelles that grazed and freely roamed around the camp. The camp was exclusive and intimate in character with 3-4 luxury tents, perfect for one large or two small families. The food was par excellence . Robert is a fabulous chef who delighted in serving us exquisite dishes, most beautifully presented. We were quite apprehensive of food as we are vegetarians but it seemed no trouble for the skilled chef. The team, service and hospitality was superb. We took packed breakfast on most morning game drives. They were delicious and plentiful. I would like to make a special mention of the bush dinner with camp fire and lanterns which was really spectacular. William also organised sundowner drinks and it was simply humbling watching the sunset in the vast, peaceful setting of the Mara. We thoroughly enjoyed a visit to the traditional village of the Masai community, which William was happy to organise. To add to all this, the money spent at the camp directly benefits the local Masai community as it provides direct employment and there are no middlemen involved. We stayed 5 nights and each day was above all our expectations. Fantastic place where to stay if you want to be in the middle of wilderness and at the same time feel safe, special and be treated like royalty. Big Thank You to William and his team for making our stay so special and memorable.

We received great food every day and some highlights were a surprise lunch in the middle of our safari day. Our experience was really tailored to what we wanted. Would highly recommend! Also the views were amazing from the camp.

Entumoto Toto Camp

Ololaimutiek

Perched on the hills of the private and secluded Megwarra escarpment lies Entumoto Safari Camp. The camp offers panoramic views over the Mara plains and features an outdoor pool, restaurant and bar.

The luxury tents come fitted with a private entrance, desk and view over the reserve. Each include a private bathroom with a shower and free toiletries. An amazing place for a luxurious safari holiday. The staff were amazing, great service. From the wet towels when you step off the jeep, to the food (amazing chefs), to the room staff. Every time we even stepped out of the tent, our bins were emptied, bed was made (even when we were going to check out), and room set. Game drives were amazing, guides knew their stuff and worked together to find the big 5. We stayed in Giraffe Cliff which was an amazing place. On the first night we had elephants right outside our tent, breaking branches at 1am! Every night the elephants were around, sleeping around the tents, but staff were always on site to guide us with torches if we ever needed to get around. They've thought of everything. We had an amazing time there, and would highly recommend it.

Your stay is inclusive of all-day guided activities like Nature walks, Warrior training, Local school visits, Wildlife tracking, Maasai homestead (Manyatta) visits, Beading, Firemaking and Campfire stories. Staying in the Camp was one of the best experiences in Kenya. We stayed there only for one night, but we learnt so much about Massai and felt extremely welcome. The staff showed us there world and guided us, so that we felt part of their home during a bush walk. We learnt the meaning of some of their dances and were shown the fire making without lighter. The food was good and original, but don’t expect a 5 course meal. It was simply good! For us as it was a must have while around the Mara.
