Albert, the host, was very welcoming. The view from the breakfast balcony was stunning, their garden was beautiful, with a lot of different kinds of birds. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, breakfast was very good. I recommend highly.

Situated in Nuevo Arenal, Casa Donna Rosa B&B features accommodation with rooftop pool, free WiFi and free private parking for guests who drive. I stayed for 6 nights and could happily have stayed longer (as some other guests were). It was every bit as good as the reviews and the rooms and views are even better than in the pictures. The views from the terrace on the first floor rooms were absolutely stunning - particularly at sunrise/sunset. The furnishings, artworks and design of the rooms (high ceilings, amazing bathrooms etc) was all better than some places at double the price in CR and really idiosyncratic as well as luxurious. Werner and Carlos were amazing hosts, super-helpful and friendly and provided classy-hotel levels of food and service in combination with the friendly ambience of being in a smaller property. I also enjoyed meeting the other guests and the location was great as the town, lake, restaurants etc. were all walkable (if you don't mind a few hills... ). Would love to go back!

Situated in Nuevo Arenal and only 22 km from Venado Caves, Lucky Bug Bed And Breakfast features accommodation with lake views, free WiFi and free private parking. Really enjoyed our stay, the room was very clean and spacious, beds comfortable. The grounds were beautifully maintained and the common area has multiple hummingbird feeders where I could identify at least 4 different species of hummingbirds. At times there were up to 20 hummingbirds at once flying around. There were other birds as well to view from the restaurant deck. At night, just walking down the driveway I spotted two tree frogs. Rob was a wonderful host, answering all our questions, thank you for the dinner recommendation, Casa Italia was fantastic. Really enjoyed the nature on this property, would definitely come back.

Offering a garden and garden view, Casa Felipe, lake view-cottage is situated in Nuevo Arenal, 37 km from Mistico Arenal Hanging Bridges Park and 45 km from Sky Adventures Arenal. The views were just amazing. We woke up the first morning and was not able to see the lake at all. But by the second morning, we could see the lake, mountain ranges, windmills in the distance, it was beautiful. The house was cute and well appointed. Beds were comfortable. Having the pool there during the hot days was awesome. The pool was the perfect place to cool off.

The property was clean, spacious and in a lovely safe location (inside a gated community). The hosts were superb from start to finish, very accommodating and friendly, offering local advice and great recommendations. They went out of their way to make sure our stay was comfortable and relaxing. The bed is comfortable, the bathroom is clean and modern and the kitchen area has everything you need. The pool area is amazing.

Situated in El Castillo de la Fortuna in the Alajuela region with Arenal Eco Zoo nearby, Vulkan Arenal Amazing View Lodge 4 WD offers accommodation with free private parking, as well as access to spa... We (1 couple) stayed for 3 days in this beautiful lodge. The lodge is directly located on top of a small plateau of a mountain. The view we had up there is just amazing. The Arenal is exposed really good and sitting at the outside table was a beautiful experience. It is really quiet most of the time, because there is no neighbors. Only during the night it can get a bit loud due to strong winds or rain. The kitchen and bathroom/shower facilties seem really modern. You need a 4x4 car to climb the asphalted road and get to the lodge. The owners were really friendly and communicating was always fast (Whatsapp).

Spacious accommodation with lots of amenities. Patio looks out over large, well maintained tropical garden paradise with colourful birds visiting bird feeders. Very comfortable beds. Property manager gave a good orientation and was responsive to questions.

Pie in the Sky 3 Amazing Luxury Home with Lake and Volcano view is a semi-detached holiday home set in El Fosforo in the Alajuela Region and is 13 km from Fortuna. A wonderful place! ... Really "in the sky", all around only nature, no view of houses. Very good for birdwatching, toucans come by daily and hummingbirds are everywhere. There is an observation platform. You can see the volcano and Lake Arenal from everywhere on the property and the many armchairs grouped around the house. The people from the agency are very friendly and helpful. We missed some things in the kitchen and bedside lamps, everything was done immediately. You have to know that there are three units on the property. In addition to the large house with four bedrooms (which we rented), there is a (very) small unit in a kind of garden house for 2 people and another house with 2 bedrooms.

The view is amazing. We were waisted because everything we saw during the hikes couldn’t compete with our place. And lot’s of Kolibri’s and butterflies in the garden.

Be prepared for a unique experience…the shower had ornate ceiling with plants growing inside and up above. Breakfast was served “family style” and the owner/chef engaged with his guests. The beds were very comfortable and everything was clean. Surrounded by lush forest!
