This is a wonderful place to stay! I would recommend it to all my family and friends. Charlie and his family have a beautiful property. They are kind, welcoming, and very helpful with finding tours and places to visit. They have an amazing guide named Santos that can take you on the tours of pink dolphins or across the river to Peru for a hike in the forest. We stayed in a comfortable studio, and had breakfast and lunch cooked for us on site. It is a beautiful family environment, and you also have the privacy of the studio. Perfect place for a vacation!

He also put me in contact with a great guide, Alex, who took very good care of us and made us discover many wonders of the area. This place is amazing, Maria and Manuel are incredibly accommodating hosts - always smiling, always willing to assist with whatever you need. This lodge is very special as it is part of the community of Mocagua and employs local people as guides and within the hostel. They directly support many families in the village and it is a unique experience to get to know the locals and explore the Amazon from their perspective. We spent 5 nights here and could have spent many more - there is so much to see and do. A few tips: - download google translate for Spanish and also Duolingo. There is very limited English spoken here and while you can probably get by with some basic phrases it is much more enriching to try and converse in Spanish if you can - make sure to bring lots of cash in Colombian Pesos (you won't get a good rate on exchanging USD) - there is no wifi and very limited cell service (no data) which is part of the charm of this place but just be prepared in advance by downloading any travel documents etc.

Marine could speak good English which was very helpful for us and her husband and the other lady who worked there were also so nice and friendly. They offer lots of tours which we did three of. We really enjoyed them all, especially the one where we went to Peru and saw sloths!

I really liked the area set aside in the light well for drying clothes. not sure how secure it is but it was fine for me. I recommend this property. The owner even gave me a ride to the airport without my asking!
