Situated in a very quiet neighborhood, this place is just perfect for relaxing, but still is minutes away from the animated street of Anton Valley. The big patio and hammock overlooking the large garden were perfect for relaxing. Big, beautiful garden with many birds. The hot spring pool was huge and pretty and the temperature was perfect day and night. The house was sparkling clean. The bed and linens were clean and very comfortable. Owners were super friendly and helpful and were always instantly responsive over phone!

We loved the place. Big, clean rooms, hot water, nice terrace to sit and have meals or drinks. A quiet hacienda with a beautiful garden, fully equipped kitchen and super kind staff.

Great location right near the trail head of La India Dormida. The owner Ariel went out of his way to make us feel at home and make our travels easy. He is probably the most hospitable host we have ever encountered in our travels. He met us in town at the bus stop and offered to drop us off at the bus stop when we were leaving. He is very knowledgeable about the town and activities, and loves to share music and stories. The communal spaces are very homely, there is a big backyard space and a river alongside the property.

The location was absolutely amazing. It was out of the town, so very quiet. The view was absolutely spectacular. We had high expectations and they were exceeded! I have stayed and worked in many locations in Central America, and I can honestly say that this place ranks high. The grounds and landscaping were gorgeous. The quiet, remote location was just to our liking, and the birding was great. Our hostess was tremendously helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable about the area. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed! We are avid birders, and racked up a good list right on the property and road, and greatly enjoyed the morning performance at the fruit feeders. In addition to birds, we saw several species of frogs and lizards, a porcupine, a possum, squirrels, and some really interesting insects. We wished we had three weeks instead of three days!

The property was excellent. It has a very nice garden where you can sit and enjoy a cup of coffe or a beer. The rooms are clean and very comfortable. Everything was very clean and tidy.

Location was excellent, with comfortable beds and all the required amenities in good working order. Perfect for our 3 night stay. It’s a 5 min walk to a good size supermarket, 15 mins to the main ‘downtown’ Avenida with restaurants and the mercado. 3 amazing hikes to the top of the ancient caldera, and the butterfly farm is a must see. We were able to park our car inside their gate, and the home is a 15 min walk to access one of the 3 primary hikes in the area, India Dormida. Jose and his partner, Liz, are wonderful hosts, and made us feel like family. The breakfast is simple and filling, and we could use their fridge and also made a meal or two using the kitchen facilities. Jose and Liz are gracious hosts and Jose is very witty. They made our time there a truly fun and memorable experience. Communication was excellent, in English and Spanish, despite my spouse and I having very limited Spanish language skills. Local knowledge, tips, and recommendations on things to do in the area were great and super appreciated. Finally, Jose joined us on one of our hikes and he made it super fun and interesting with his knowledge of local flora and fauna. Soaking in the thermal pool in the morning was great. The grounds were big and spacious and peaceful. We could walk to town, or very close, around the corner was a small store for snacks. My sister loved the covered kitchen and outdoor eating/sitting area for breakfast in the morning.
