In one word: brilliant! I had a very pleasant stay at this little guesthouse in Gokayama. The host is super friendly and accommodating and I really felt welcome. All facilities are there, everything is clean and the place looks just beautiful. The bus stop is less then a minute walk away and it is a 30 minute walk to Ainokura. I highly recommend staying here, you won’t regret it!

Lovely stay in a traditional old house in UNESCO Heritage-listed Ainokura. Amazing dinner, amazing breakfast, hot green tea always available, a yukata to wear in the house. Loved the atmosphere of this traditional property, and I had my best sleep of my Japan trip - very comfy mattress! Place is kept warm by the heaters. Loved everything about it and recommending everyone to stay here! Great value for money as well. Friendly hosts, while with limited English they make the stay very comfortable. There is even a warm small spa bath in the bathroom, do yourself a favor and use it especially on a chilly day! Everything was great.

The inn-keeper, Satoe, is the absolute kindest, sweetest host you could ask for. She made us incredibly welcome and comfortable (despite rolling in with two kids and a baby!) and even brought sparklers and small fireworks for the girls to play with one night. The area surrounding is beautiful, including a little restaurant we could walk to and beautiful villages and a lovely onsen within a short drive. The location is great for visiting this region, and even farther afield destinations, like Kanazawa on the north coast, felt quite accessible from here by car.

The best thing about this place is the people. Wonderful family is running this small cozy Inn along the road to Shirakawa-go from Toyama. We could not find affordable Inn in Shirakawa-go, so we chose this one just 40 minutes away. Very nice rooms decorated with good taste and comfortable. Toilet and sink are available in the room and the traditional bath separately for men and women is located downstairs. It was interesting to try it. Very helpful and friendly family members were willing to communicate and give us advice. And great meals were served with care and in a traditional way. We enjoyed our one night stay there a lot. Love the place and the huge dinner and breakfast! It was a veritable feast. The futon beds were very comfortable too. We enjoyed the onsen very much. In addition, we had our own private toilet and bathroom. Would highly recommend this place.
