Oxford
Just 5 miles from the city centre of Oxford, The Bear and Ragged Staff offers fantastic homemade food, free parking, and free Wi-Fi. You can relax in its cosy olde worlde bar, beside a roaring log fire. Ronan the assistant manager was very welcoming. Breakfast was excellent with many choices on the menu. Breakfast is served from 08-11. We were able to get a small take away breakfast for our drive to Gatwick airport when we were checking out which we appreciated. There always was parking available for our car. We were able to check in a few hours early which was great because we were very jet lagged. We ate dinner in the restaurant several nights and it was great as well. To get to Oxford we drove to the Seacourt park and ride and paid 5 pounds total to park our car and take the bus into Oxford. To return from Oxford you need to take the same bus line (400) that you went on. Our room was spacious and the shower was great. We were never bothered by noise.

Would highly recommend.

Both free WiFi and parking on-site are accessible at the bed and breakfast free of charge. The property is non-smoking and is set 29 km from Notley Abbey. This lovely accommodation exceeded our expectations! Having arrived in the dark we managed to get a glimpse of the front room. At the front door we were greeted by the lovely hosts, Sue and Brendan who took us through. The house is simply unique and very beautiful. It has 3 floors (and a basement for the hosts use only). The front room had a very home-from-home feel. Sue showed us the kitchen which was amazing - wooden beams and original wooden doors but also a very modern feel to it. She then took us up to our room which was in the roof of house so it had a low ceiling and a small window. The bed was comfy and the bathroom was very clean and tidy. We had a little heater in the room which came in handy during the night and morning especially because of the recent cold spell. Breakfast was superb, the table was laid out for us complete with homemade bread (which was a wonderful treat) and condiments, cereals, yoghurts, juice and hot drinks. It was just a case of help ourselves. We have friends in Wallingford and every so often meet up with them for evenings out. It's always been difficult in the past to find reasonable accommodation but not any more, this is now our go to place and with hosts like Sue and Brendan we couldn't have found anywhere better.

It is set 35 km from Cliveden House and features private check-in and check-out. The property is non-smoking and is situated 33 km from Notley Abbey. Really nice setting, very rural, very clean and had everything we needed. It was comparable to the cost of a premiere inn or Travelodge but in our opinions so much better quality in terms of facilities and comfort.

Great location, beautiful quaint hotel with charming character
Great location for visiting Abingdon and Didcot amongst other towns in a small village with a nice restaurant and pub. Lovely property set back off the street so it’s very quiet and private. The annexe is very clean and has lovely fresh bedding and decor. Nice treats upon arrival - milk, biscuits and wine. And tea, coffee and sugar plus oils and seasonings available for use at the property. Everything’s been thought of.
Clean and quiet place to stay, good sized rooms that are cosy and warm. Great location to stay for a trip to the city centre, about 40 min walk/10 min drive.
Excellent breakfast, scrambled eggs were perfect, good coffee it was all perfect. Could not fault location, plentyof buses straight to city centre. Private parking at hotel and staff were very pleasant and helpful! Tv was bigger than you normally get in a hotel all in all it was a very comfortable pleasant stay.
Delightfully different hotel. Quirky but charming decor. Very comfortable and quiet room. Half hour walk to the centre of Oxford. Excellent breakfast.
Excellent location. Short walk into Oxford and for the New Theatre. Staff were great hosts. Food was excellent. Quiet location - we've stayed in central Oxford before and it can be very noisy (sirens and revellers). This was ideal. Lovely old building. Room was clean, comfortable and great location - short walk into the city centre and all the sight seeing you want.
Lovely room in a charming property. Private parking, great location to town and although on a busy main road, we were pleasantly surprised how quiet our room was. Delightful host and will certainly return !
