The apartment is perfect for couples or families. It is very clean, spacious, and comfortable. It is carefully renovated with a lot of care for Japanese traditional houses. The futons were very comfortable and the breakfast with delicious bred and juice was just perfect. The village itself is definitely worth a visit. It is very relaxed and still offers everything you need. Supermarket, restaurant and especially a great beach just in front and beautiful nature. We were warmly welcomed and immediately felt like being at home. We definitely recommend to book dinner if possible. Food is amazing here.

We chanced on the annual Shimenawa ceremony at the Anori-jinga shrine, which brought many of residents of the town together. The house itself is very comfortable, with an open living room and a nice upstairs sleeping space with comfy futons. Fabulous deep tub, with a view. It felt wonderful to have a whole cabin to ourselves. We had a hard time finding the address, but the hosts (although not on site) were extremely quick to help us via Booking messages.

I wanted to go to the Yokohama Observatory (which is expensive and hard to reach by public transpo), but they offered a shuttle ride to a train station, and also told me about Shima City tourism’s taxi promo. Very helpful! Other than that, the room was bigger than expected. It had a small Japanese garden, which was a good touch. They also had a lot of fun facilities in the lobby.
