It doesn't get any more perfect to stay right on this heavenly beach, listening to the sound of the waves, with the coral reef swimming distance away. We went snorkeling twice, once on the boat, and once right from shore and both were magical experiences. Plus, whoever is the cook there is fantastic!! Their fresh seafood is out of this world, one night I even had squid cooked in its own ink, which I normally would be scared to try, but it was so delicious it blew my mind! And they know how to make doughnuts which they serve for breakfast... This is truly as idyllic as it gets!!

This place is in a beautiful coastal village is out of the way, which is great! 15 minute drive to kudat, 20 minutes from the tip of borneo. The accommodation is simple, but for the price it's great. The host, Jair, is incredibly helpful and can arrange for meals cooked in the homestay for 15rm each.

I loved that it felt like I was off the beaten track. Howard and his family made me feel so welcomed as soon as i arrived. He spent time with all guests each day having great chats. There's plenty of various types of accommodation. I stayed in the longhouse and it was fantastic. Howard is also highlighting the Rungus people (the local indigenous tribe) I loved that Howard is managing the place with an eco consciousness, starting with the compostable toilets! On one of the mornings I even participated in International Coastal Clean Up day along with all the locals at the local beach. I'm happy I stayed the 3 days. I definitely could've spent more time just doing not much but had to get back to catch my flight home.
