To no one's surprise, a Japanese hotel is super cleanly and orderly. The Route Inn gives you the option of having a light daily cleaning and a full daily cleaning. I opted for the light cleaning, since I'm not a messy person, and I was only staying for 4 days. The breakfast provided was also fantastic. Served in a buffet style, the hotel restaurant provided a variety of both Western style and Japanese style breakfast foods.

The staff made a real effort to cook us a fantastic Japanese meal and to explain to us how to eat it. The room we stayed in was an authentic Japanese room with no beds (only futons to be rolled out on the floor). I loved having this experience and would recommend for any western travellers looking to have a unique experience.

We used this as one night stop over after visiting the Kurobe Alpine and before going to Nagoya. Was pleasantly surprised with an extremely good dinner. The bath was also nice. Except we are not used to sleeping on futons.
