Featuring 5 different Japanese baths, traditional foods and 2 saunas, Jomon no Yado Manten is just 200 metres from Yakushima Airport and a 45-minute drive from the Shiratani Unsuikyo Ravine. The location couldn't be better, it is literally across the street from the airport. Bus stops are very plentiful nearby and the hotel staff is very well versed in showing you exactly which buses you need to get to your destination on the island. They are able to call taxis for you if necessary as well. All around wonderful location and very helpful staff!

A 3-minute walk from Yakushima Airport, Tomarigi offers a bunk in a dorm room, a garden with a hammock and free Wi-Fi. This place is absolutely amazing. Japanese people are generally very hospitable, but the host took it to a next level. She gave me clear instructions how to do my hiking trip and also booked my return ferry for me. She even made some homemade onigiri for me and every other guest doing a hike. There's also breakfast (coffee/tea and toast) in the hostel and the host was there awake at 3 AM to make sure everybody gets going without problems. The forest around the hostel and the facilities themselves are very unique.

Situated in Yakushima, 25 km from Yakusugi Land and 23 km from Jomon Sugi, Yakushima Pension Ichigoichie features accommodation with air conditioning and access to a garden. The little pension is run by a lovely grandma and grandpa. Very welcoming, even though there was a language barrier, as they do not speak English, we managed to get the point across via translation apps. They offer yummy breakfast and can prepare nice bento for you if you ask for it for lunch. The location is great, near the airport, however car is optimal for the best experience. The location of the pension is close to all of the main routes and key activities. We were staying in the private bathroom room and were happy with the facilities.

Situated in Yakushima and only 18 km from Shiratani Unsuikyo, Yakushima Cottage Kukai features accommodation with sea views, free WiFi and free private parking. Host was very kind - drove me to Miyanoura for food and to catch my ferry. The cottage was very pleasant.

Situated in Tabugawa, 15 km from Shiratani Unsuikyo and 29 km from Yakusugi Land, 新築貸切 屋久島の地杉香る 完全貸切別荘 家族やグループでの利用にぴったり offers air conditioning. Every tiny details were taken care of here. It was amazing.

At Cottage Morinokokage, guests can rent out a cottage with a hammock. Free WiFi is available in the guest rooms. Clean, comfortable, host was amazing and very helpful.

Yakushima Minsyuku Suginoko, a property with a garden, is located in Yakushima, 18 km from Yakusugi Land, 26 km from Shiratani Unsuikyo, as well as 29 km from Jomon Sugi. Close to Anbo Port and restaurants (about a 25-35 minute walk if you don’t have a car). Bus stops conveniently located for trips to Jomon Sugi & YakusugiLand. Ask host or information centre for times and locations. Friendly staff. I recommend at least 3 full days in Yakushima.

A 3-minute drive from Ambo Harbour, Yakushima Green Hotel offers Japanese-style and Western rooms with ocean views. The place is very beautiful and very well located. We loved our room and will probably be back, The staff is very nice. Thank you for the great stay !
