Onsen Guest House Tsutaya bevindt zich in Hakone, op 6,5 km van station Hakone-Yumoto en 48 km van pretpark Fuji-Q Highland. The very kind response of the staff and the fact that I could enjoy the outdoor hot spring were very good.

Kusatsu Onsen Eidaya is located in Kusatsu. The property is a 10-minute walk from Kusatsu Yubatake and Kusatsu-Onsen Bus Terminal. It is a Japanese style inn with retro vibes. Their private onsen's water comes from the very hot spring source of Kusatsu and therefore you can experience the hot spring water without going to the public baths if you are shy. We mostly used them at night when the town's baths are closed since the inn's are 24/7 open. I would recommend to book a japanese style room as it has it's tatami and according decoration and together with the inn's yukata (there is an opt for a colorful one and geta to rent) it gives a more japanese experience. We liked that the inn had slippers for going outside which was convenient as the whole town is full with onsens (even ones that are only for feet) and therefore is more convenient to move in slippers. They have a game area with a lot of retro game (even arcade games) and Nintendo SFC System Video Game Console in the rooms. It may not be in the centre of the town (around 10 min walk for either yubatake or Sainokawara Park and open onsen) but is very close to it and also they offer pick up/drop off from the bus terminal. Staff were very friendly and helped with everything we needed. In our next visit to Kusatsu we are definitely staying there!

Boasting rare nigori-yu milky water hot spring baths and , Mount View Hakone offers Japanese-style rooms and Japanese delicacies. Het eten was echt heerlijk en goed afwisselend (drie dagen, steeds iets anders gegeten). Bushalte voor de deur is ideaal om naar Lake Ashi te gaan (en om bij het hotel te komen natuurlijk). Mooie hike met uitzichtpunt (Mount Kintoki) op loopafstand van het hotel.

Opened in 1878, Fujiya Hotel features Meiji Era architecture set in Hakone’s natural beauty. Alles was schoon en de service was piekfijn in orde zoals dat alleen in Japan kan.

Hakone Gora KARAKU is gelegen in Hakone, op 8,3 km van station Hakone-Yumoto, en biedt accommodatie met een terras, gratis privéparkeren, een restaurant en een bar. This was easily the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Impeccable and luxurious through and through. Staff are 10/10 as is their bar and dinner

Hot Spring Inn Hakone Suisen is gelegen in Hakone, op 4,2 km van station Hakone-Yumoto, en biedt accommodatie met een gedeelde lounge, gratis privéparkeren en een terras. The staff was incredibly helpful and nice, I fell in love with each of them. And the girl, who booked food for me, I wish her all the best, she saved my evening that day with her initiative

Chuzenji Pension ligt in Nikko, op 9 minuten lopen van Kegon-watervallen en 16 km van schrijn Nikko Toshogu, en biedt accommodatie met een tuin, gratis WiFi en gratis privéparkeren. Als je ooit in Nikko wilt overnachten? Op 20 minuten van de Shinkyobrug ligt dit pension aan het meer van Chuzenji. Super vriendelijke mensen die ook wel wat Engels spreken - evt uitleg in het Japans is prima te volgen. Halfpension is inbegrepen bij de overnachting en dan krijg je stipt om 18.00 uur een 6-gangen diner en in de ochtend stipt om 08.00 uur een ontbijt. Het ziet er niet modern uit maar dat heeft zijn charme - het is er schoon en de bedden liggen heerlijk. Je kunt gebruik maken van een private onsen - ook als je tattoos hebt. Parkeren kan op het terrein.

Centurion Hakone Bettei is gelegen in Hakone, op 12 km van station Hakone-Yumoto, en biedt accommodatie met een gedeelde lounge, gratis privéparkeren en een restaurant. The staff was amazing and super accommodating. The private onsen was a great experience and really nice that your room gets an hour per day.

Hakone Miyanoshita Myojokan biedt accommodatie in Hakone, dicht bij station Kowakudani en Beeldenpark Hakone. Very nice private and natural onsen bath. Nice rooms ans comfy beds. The owner is very kind and had good tips for our stay. We stayed 3 nights. There is an bus stop and train stop near by. There isn't any breakfast but we got Onigri from 7 Eleven which was good. The owner servers tea and coffee. We can recommend to stay in this Ryokan.

Cyashitsu ryokan asakusa is aantrekkelijk gelegen in Tokyo, en biedt kamers met airconditioning, een gedeelde lounge, gratis WiFi en een terras. Immaculately cared for with the kindest staff I have ever encountered. You immediately feel at home and taken care of with small touches like skincare in the bathrooms, to big things like the private roof onsen available for free reservation. Fabulous breakfast and we were on our honeymoon so they surprised us with a decorated dessert and Polaroid photo of us!! Over the top kindness that makes me recommend this hotel to everyone and can’t imagine visiting Japan again without staying here.
