Hotel in Villa Borghese Parioli, Rome
Located in Rome, 1969 feet from Piazza del Popolo, ethical and no-profit hotel Albergo Etico Roma provides air-conditioned accommodations with free WiFi. Everything was perfect. Exceptional cleanliness, good food, but the best of all were people. Jacop, Ilaria and Francesca at the reception did everything they could to help us when we lost our luggage at the airport. Numerous phone calls made by Jacop, warm advice wards said by the ladies. The kitchen and the restaurant people, whose names I unfortunately don't know, helped me to order gluten-free dishes. Thank you. Thanks everyone. I recommend this hotel. I recommend it strongly.

Molto belle le installazioni di arte contemporanea ai fori imperiali...consiglio la visita a chi riesce in questi giorni! Imperdibile un aperitivo sul lungotevere agli stand di fronte all'isola tiberina!
Grottaferata was a lovely small town with good restaurants but Frascati was larger with more choice. All the Castelli Romani area is easily explored as each small town sprawling into the next. From this area you can easily reach Castel Gandolfo , the Pope's summer residence with gorgeous taverna's and gift shops overlooking the beautiful Lago Albano. As we were travelling with our children, the Lake was our source of swimming, kayaking, wind surfing and sailing plus much needed R and R. We visited Ariccia with its infamous Fraschette's and ate Porchetta, pasta carbonara and amatriciana as the Romans intended. The gelateria's are plentiful and depending on travel arrangements you can easily reach the Lazio coast or Rome. You can also get to Nemi and see a smaller lake and its beautifully picturesque town famous for fragolini (tiny wild strawberries). A great area to visit. We even went to Tivoli for the day. Amazing!!!
A nice discovery. Getting there from the Adriatic coast one gets to see such beautiful scenery along the way! The surrounding hills and meandering river gives this town a special cachet. Plus it's not heavily touristic so it feels authentic. A fairly active hub in a seemingly rural area. We were visiting during their Fiera del pepperoncino in September with exhibits of chili peppers from around the world and a food fair with all kinds of specialities from other parts of Italy. Well worth a visit. Close to Rome, Viterbo, Spoleto, Assisi, Rieti is a good homebase for discovering the Lazio, Umbria, Le Marche and Abruzzo regions.
While Farnese is in the Roman area of Lazio, it creeps over into Tuscany. The town is lovely and laid back. The population includes the young and the old. Everyone is out in the piazzas in the evening. The food is absolutely delicious and the trattorias charming. I did not have any problem getting out in the morning with the locals trying to get to know them. The agriturismo is amazing as are the local wineries and olive groves. Make sure you take a walk in the historic center where you can envision how one lived long ago and still do! You will need a car to get around as there are many places to visit in the region, all within 20 minutes from Farnese. It is so lovely, my son purchased a home there recently.
Rome is wonderful! There is so much to see and do especially if you enjoy historical sites. Ferro E Ghisa restaurant on Circonvallazione Aurelia is an excellent place to eat. They offer a varied menu with so many choices! Our food was superb! Very tasty, priced modestly and good sized portions. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
Sia il riscaldamento che il condizionatore/pompa di calore erano non funzionante, in gennaio è sicuramente un problema. Alla reception rispondono che basta aspettare 10min, ma tuttavia calore zero. Colazione Mediocre nonostante fosse a pagamento.
Didn't get to see too much of the city buy the architecture and position of the city within the boundaries of a river is quite unique and aesthetically pleasing . Sora is close to the Parco Nazionale Abruzzo/Lazio and is a good option for Accomodation if you are on a budget. Make sure you have a car with you as the park is 1hr away by car
Palestrina
Very nicely equipped apartment 2 minutes from the main part of the town. Parking was in a nearby street and easy to find. Palestrina is an excellent base to explore this part of Lazio: close to the Castelli Romani area, Villa Adriana, Subiaco, Alatri etc. It's about 1hour from the seaside at Anzio/Nettuno. Don't forget to visit the museum in Palestrina itself which houses the impressive Nile Mosaic from Roman times. We also appreciated the cool breeze in the evening and the panorama from the terrace above the town.
Bolsena
Stayed for three nights while traveling around Toscana / Lazio / Umbria. Very quiet and convenient place to stay for exploring Civita di Bagnoregio, Orvieto, Viterbo etc. surroundings. Bolsena too offers some nice views of the lago, attractions and good food to spend evenings or even a day. Apartment itself, although a bit tight, has everything you need, including kitchen equipment. Host Manuela was really nice, and that small welcome gift was consumed with a great pleasure in a sunny balcony :)
Tivoli
*Walking distance to Hadrian's Villa *Great view of Lazio from living area *Spotless: the whole apartment was absolutely spotlessly clean. *Breakfast was ample and a very good mix of breads, yogurt, etc. *Comfy bed *Large bathroom (we had the private bath) *Quiet *Ample parking on the street in front of the building *Owners & locals are very friendly at the cafe/patisserie around the corner, which has excellent coffee and baked goods.
Valmontone
Great host, professional and incredibly kind, Good location, for trains station , plus motorway. Good size apartment, clean and modern. the only downside, Was no Wi-Fi, but the host is working on that, overall 9 out of 10. would highly recommend, for anybody looking for a base, to explore Lazio, Naples. and a big shout out to Matteo who’s English is really good, and his father Bruno.!!
We loved everything about our stay, especially our hosts! Viterbo is beautiful and it's a great central location to visit many beautiful spots in Lazio, Umbria, and Tuscany. The apartment was very well equipped and comfortable. Giovanna was truly wonderful, leaving treats and drinks for us and giving us lots of information about the area. We were really sad to leave. 💕
The hotel is great if you're planning to visit Il Tempio della Fortuna in Palestrina or this part of Lazio/Rome in general. Run by a local family for years. Very friendly and great food. Great location in the centre of town and perfect for bars and restaurants...and there are plenty of those around. Overall, a good stay, despite its condition.
Grotte di Castro
Casa Biscarello is a small jewel. Located in a very picturesque small town close to plenty of amazing places like Bosena, Pitigliano, Orvieto and many many more. The host were extremely friendly and welcoming and the place is very well furnished. The ideal place to visit this lesser known part of Italy between Toscana, Umbria and Lazio.
Gaeta
One of the most beautiful bay in Lazio the rooms are comfortables hidden behind a georgious garden. Everything is very clean and the staff is very friendly. Close to the hotel there are two utmost nice villeges. Gaeta and Sperlonga. We will for sure come back her again.
We stayed a night here at the end of a short break to various places in Lazio. What was good was the location of the hotel for early morning Ciampino departures, the bookable and reasonably priced airport shuttle and the cleanliness of the rooms.
Vetralla
NIce apartment and great base for exploring north Lazio and southern Tuscany by car. Very friendly owner. Great value for price.
Location was amazing, comfortable and clean room, very deliсious dishes in the restaurant.
The hotel garden was incredible and the whole setting picture perfect! A generous breakfast was provided on a lovely piazzetta under the trees, the menu and wine list at the restaurant were very good, the bars and the pool/sea area were all generously setup. The golf cart provided was most useful given how the hotel is set on the side of the mountain and climbing between levels can be quite taxing. Most importantly, the entire staff but especially the golf cart driver and the restaurant staff, were extremely helpful and courteous.
A total relax just at the sea front - with the sea view from the balcony. Lovely breakfast and friendly staff.
Love Gaeta and the people of Gaeta and Serapo Hotel staff
Beautiful spot, like an oasis. Staff is friendly and helpful. The food is superb. Great place to relax after exploring all the wonders the area has to offer.
The location and private beach is amazing!!!
Trees and easyy check in :) peacefull location. A lot of parking space :)
Wow what a nice surprise. Beautiful location, excellent restaurant and comfortable room. Couldn’t ask for more
The location is breathtaking. The landscaping at the hotel is warm and welcoming. Makes you feel right at home. The staff was exceptional
