We were a group of 3 doing the whisky trail and ended up on Islay. What a wonderful property to stay at, on the island. The hotel is in a very good location, very near to the Port Ellen Ferry terminal. There are restaurants, a pub and a convenient store nearby. We had the family room which had 3 separate beds and a folding bed. The room was very spacious, well appointed and clean. There was plenty of natural light and the windows are very well placed to allow for cross-ventilation. Heating in the room was perfect. The bathroom is fairly large and roomy, very clean and had all basic amenities like body wash, shampoo, overnight kit, etc. The shower has fantastic water pressure and hot & cold water are seamless and the controls easy to manage. The beds are quite comfortable and offered a very good night's sleep. Although, the property is right by the main road there is hardly any disturbance from the street below. There is daily housekeeping and it's nice to come back to clean sheets and fresh towels. Excellent choices available for breakfast, which is a table service, but unlimited. A lot of pluses staying at this property.

Staff: took the time to remember our names before we even got there, super hospitable, and always make sure to prioritize the guests. They went above and beyond for any requests we had. Room: cleanliness & amenities felt like a hotel, decor felt like home, perfect mix Food/bar: local bar is right downstairs (but split from the hotel side if you just need entrance/exit), what else could you want. Food was really good as well. They also have a sister restaurant that books out down the street! This is our favorite hotel that we've ever stayed at. Can't wait to go back, thank you to everyone at Lochindaal!

Featuring a fitness centre and a garden, Machrie Hotel & Golf Links is situated just outside Port Ellen. This 4-star hotel offers a 24-hour front desk and free WiFi. Very modern room in an excellent location. Golf was excellent. Views are stunning. Food is excellent. Staff are great.

Port Charlotte Hotel is located in Port Charlotte on the shore of Loch Indaal. The conservatory and gardens open onto a sandy beach. This is a very quaint, pretty , beautiful experience of staying in an historic hotel. It was beautifully decorated for Xmas and other guests and locals visiting the bar were friendly and fun. Food was great. Tv struggled. Breakfasts were fantastic especially the scrambled eggs and salmon. Loved having Marion play piano accordion on our last night. Thanks to Henry for organising. Was very special.
