Location is great. The building is lovely and charming. Used to be a post office and you can still see a lot f ornaments. Room was nice and comfy. Staff was very friendly and helpfully.

The room was quiet, I liked the balcony. It was right across the street from the train station which was great as I didn't have to drag my luggage too far. It was also close to the centre, restaurants, movie theatre.

I didn't know what to expect but picked Leeuwarden as a central spot for exploring Friesland. It is a beautiful town that is the perfect size to get around easily. There was so much more to do here than I expected and could easily have stayed for a week or more without getting bored. It was easy to walk to great museums, restaurants and shopping.
My children highly recommended the Nature Museum which was very interactive and good for children of all ages and adults too.
We enjoyed shopping in the Blokhuispoort and taking to the artisans about their sustainability story.
We stayed at the Post Plaza Hotel and highly recommend it.
Next time, I will go in spring/summer/fall and rent a bike to explore even more. Very bike friendly city.

The city is a perfect example of how to combine the old with the new. The architecture is very nice to observe, the people are friendly, there's a lot going on on the streets so it's never boring and there are also a lot of quiet places by the canals where you can get a moment of rest. There are not a lot of things that would be specifically aimed at tourists which adds a very nice wibe as you get the sense that the atmosphere is very genuine.

Friesland is a beautiful area of the Netherlands.
Friesland is a beautiful area of the Netherlands. Leeuwarden itself is a busy tourist town with lots of things to see and lots of shops and restaurants. Like many of the surrounding villages (for example Franeker) it is full of old, historic buildings. The sea is not far away and you should definitely try a guided mud walk (wadlopen) when the tide is out.
A few kilometers to the south of Leeuwarden you will find De Alde Feanen National Park. Rent a bike in Grou and cycle along one of the many marked cycle routes.

I've only stayed two days for a conference, it wasn't sufficient to discover the town.
From what I could experience, Leeuwarden is a pleasant place with historical sites. It's great for walking and biking, has a lot of restaurants for all the tastes.
At the same time, everything is quite expensive, from accommodation to food.

This was a very charming little city, with lovely, bricklined streets, a stunning architecture, and lovely, local businesses lining broad streets with canals running down the middle. I didn't eat 'out' while I was there, I just purchased food from the various supermarkets, which provided excellent fare for a reasonable price.
This is an exceedingly easy city to get around in. The historic "core" is small and compact and easily walkable.

I went there to visit a friend.
I went there to visit a friend. I stayed on Monday night and I was told Mondays are quiet as many places close on Mondays. But I enjoyed the quiet surroundings indeed.
Yes, it is small but lovely. And it is easy to get around. Well, avoid Monday as most places close on Monday.
I don't speak Dutch, only simple English. I am worried about the trouble caused by poor communication. But the contactless check-in here saved me all the hassle. The staff enthusiastically explained all the details including check-in and check-out via WhatsApp. The house is warm and comfortable, you can cook your own meals, and the decoration is beautiful. There was a variety of drinks in the fridge (clearly priced, pay to drink) and I thought everything about this aparthotel was top notch.
A great place to stay, across the train station of Leeuwarden, close to the city center, we enjoyed the comfort of the room, the bed was great, the cleanliness exceptional, the breakfast abundant with lots of fruit and vegetables, dairy and non-dairy options, a nice spacious lobby with many quiet corners... Would like to return to the Oranje Hotel again! Thank you!
The owners are very kind. We were welcomed with open arms after which the owner provided us with a map of the notable locations in Leeuwarden and a tour around the house.
The bed is huge and very comfortable. The style is impeccable. We loved the record player and the provided records. The sauna is definitely a recommendation!
All and all a lovely experience!
Very nice, design and colorful hotel. The room was big, spacious, luminous and beautiful. The bed quality was very good, we slept like babies. The hotel was quiet. We also enjoyed the lobby (lots of games and books). Location is very convenient, center, museums, and monuments are at walking distance.
Wonderful hotel! Perfect location across from train station, and short walk into town. Very large, comfortable room with a little balcony and sitting area. The room had all amenities including a hair dryer and coffee/tea.
Highly recommend and will definitely stay there again.
Beautiful, grand old building; I'm told it was originally built as an office for the Dutch postal services. The hotel is conveniently situated in the center of Leeuwarden and offers clean and comfortable rooms. Breakfast is available in a coffee shop on the ground floor.
The staff! Always helpful and with a smile on their faces! Wow what a great advertisement for Friesland...Brabant hotels should come here to train ;). The breakfast was excellent, best cooked eggs. The room was large and clean and had a bath. Hotel was lovely and quiet.
Really nice room in a well renovated hotel in what I presume was a former post office. I had my evening meal in the hotel and the food was great and the atmosphere nice for a solo traveller. Really good bar. Best bitterballens I had in the Netherlands.
The hotel is beside a training college so staff in the hotel and in the restaurant were students from here. They were all charming and very attentive. Fabulous breakfast, but only here for one night so didn’t sample the evening restaurant.
Loved the hotel and its story originating from a post office. Room was very nice, clean and loved the comfortable bed and bedding. Breakfast was awesome, so many choices. Staff very nice.
Everything. The staff were extremely friendly. The restaurant attached to the hotel was an exceptionally good value and was one of the best meals I’ve ever had.
A good quiet hotel , nice rooms , helpful staff , when you realy want to rest after days of travelling, it can be the place to do that and in affordable price.
