Once called a “Paris of the Middle East”, Beirut is the Lebanese capital set alongside the Mediterranean seashore and flanked by the Lebanese Mountains. Severely destroyed during the Civil War, the city underwent major reconstruction and is now a vibrant place full of nightlife and shopping venues.
Beirut is often considered by many major media outlets to be one of the top cities in the world due to its cosmopolitan nature and commercial development. See it for yourself on Rue Verdun, the trendiest shopping area or the Central District, the city’s historical core, full of modern structures, dining venues and open public spaces.
Stroll down the tourists’ favourite, Hamra Street, featuring plenty of boutique shops, popular cafés and restaurants. Beirut is sometimes called the “Party Capital of the Arab World” so while you’re at it, dance the night off at the clubs at Rue Monnot.
For a bit of history mixed with upbeat nightlife, pay a visit to Achrafieh, one of the city’s oldest and most charming districts. Since Beirut has over 5,000 years of history, a visit to its National Museum and Archaeological Museum is a real treat.
Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport is only a 10-minute drive from the city centre and Booking.com offers a variety of hotels and apartments in Achrafieh and Hamra for your perfect Beirut stay.
Beirut is one of my favorite cities. It is a vibrant city with an amazing cultural history. Walking in downtown, with the beautiful Souk filled to the brim with budget-friendly and high-end stores, while hearing the call to prayer from the neighboring Al-amin Mosque, lets you know you are in a unique city. Its mix of modernity and history makes it so interesting to walk around and discover. It has a great restaurant scene, if you are a foodie - even vegan, there are lots of options. The French colonization impacted its architecture - mixing Arabic and french styles. You get around with Taxis, everywhere has wifi, and you can surely find someone speaking French or English to guide you. The city actually also has a great gay-scene, with bars and clubs, making it a unique city in the Middle East.

Beirut is a must!
Beirut is a must! Lebanon is small and Beirut is a great location to plan your travel from if you are here for a short trip. If you plan a longer time here, it's worth spending more time in different regions of the country. You can make a day trip from Beirut to pretty much anywhere in Lebanon.

Beirut, Lebanon's capital, is a captivating blend of ancient history and modern vitality. From its well-preserved Roman ruins and a treasure trove of historical artifacts at the National Museum to its diverse neighborhoods bursting with art, culture, and delicious cuisine, Beirut offers an enchanting travel experience. The city's stunning Mediterranean seafront, vibrant Corniche, and the warm hospitality of its people add to its allure, making Beirut a must-visit destination that seamlessly weaves together the old and the new, leaving travelers with unforgettable memories of a resilient and inviting city.
I really enjoyed my stay at Orient Queen Homes. The room was spacious, the bed was very comfortable, and the location was very good (short walk to Hamra). But the best part of my stay was Ramy, the receptionist. As soon as I arrived he was the first person I interacted with and he could not have been kinder. He helped me whenever he could and was super friendly. The service I received was amazing. I highly recommend this hotel and will stay here again next time I am in Beirut. Thank you Ramy for your kindness!
I decided to visit Beirut on a whim at a very short notice, and decided on this hotel based on reviews. I am very happy that I chose this, everything was impeccable and as advertised. The location was good too. easy walk to restaurants on hamra, and even walkable (or quick and cheap L50000 can ride from pigeon rocks or downtown). Bashar was super helpful, he organised airport transfers and day trips to Baalbek and Sidna (absolutely recommended) efficiently and at a fair price.
The staff was friendly, welcoming and kind. The hotel is quite nice and modern, and the room itself was clean and very comfortable. The location is pretty good since you're next to the Zaitunay bay (and hence just within a short walk to downtown Beirut) and also in the street where the hotel is located you can find a supermarket with good variety of products. Even though is a busy street in terms of traffic at night I didn't have any problem to sleep.
During my stay at The Grand Meshmosh Hotel, several aspects stood out. The reception staff's willingness to resolve a booking issue with a discounted room upgrade was a customer-focused highlight. The hotel's central location near downtown Beirut and Mar Mikhael is a significant advantage for exploring the city. The hotel's bohemian ambience added to the overall experience provided excellent value for the price.
Excellent location in Beirut with friendly staff and everything you need. The only issue I had is not with the hotel, but the moment of my stay - Beirut was on alert due to difficult situation between Israel and Gaza and many facilities, places, objects and even services were unavailable due to this situation.
The location of the place is in proximity of the famous Hamra district and the Rawcheh Rocks.
The hotel is perfectly located to some of Beirut’s good attraction. Despite the relatively dated furniture, the junior suite we got was quite clean and well organized to accommodate 3 adults and 1 child.
Hotel staff is among the best I’ve seen. They were overly friendly, supportive and accommodating of all our special needs.
I’ll definitely consider Radisson Blue Martinez Beirut in my future visits.
The best thing about the hotel is the staff, they will make you feel like you have a family in Beirut, specially Mr. Dia and Mr. Mahmoud.
The hotel location is magnificent, in the heart of hamra street, the cleanliness level is very high, the breakfast is wonderful, and btw the electricity & WIFI is available 24/7.
I will go back again to J hotel whenever I come back to Beirut
Health Club.
Front desk most responsive & professional.
Easy to locate off main road, & easy parking. No heavy traffic to deal with around hotel.
Great bakery right across the street from the hotel!
Non-smoking facility; much appreciated.
Convenient jump off point if heading east across the Lebanon mountains the next morning.
I would not hestitate booking again!
Rooms were comfortable with good ACs and 24/7 electricity. Breakfast was good but could use a bit more variety (seems to be a common issue in beirut).
Location is great as well to easy access to many neighborhoods (Hamra, Zaitouna Bay, Downtown)
Staff are super friendly and professional, especially Patricia in the front desk was super helpful.
Probably one of the best hotels in Beirut - it’s modern and has a wide range of facilities. It is also in a fairly upmarket neighborhood that is well connected to the rest of the city. Water and electricity are fine despite the issues Beirut is facing, with only very brief loss of power at random intervals.
Great apartment, very spacious. Centrally located in Hamra and also centrally located in Beirut. Many cafes and restaurants in the area. The people working at the apartment are very friendly and helpful. After a round trip in Lebanon I will be back at Divan Hotel Apartments to stay for a second time.
Breakfast is extremely poor
Hotel is not reliable - they tried to cheat expats with the currency devaluation and charging them ridiculous amounts for basic services. Taking advantage of the situation in lebanon to cheat foreigners and they wonder why they talk badly about lebanon ! Shame on you
The staff were beyond friendly. The rooms were adorable and very clean. Location is superb..was an absolutely beautiful stay overall. Will definitely repeat it again.
Special thanks to Mohamed who we had an extreme joy talking to, giving us insights on Lebanon and Lebanese people :)
The location is amazing and is walking distance from the whole of downtown Beirut Zaitona bay, and Gemayze. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is very clean and the bed is super large and comfortable. Highly recommend as the value for money is very high.
The property is really well located in Beirut, in the middle of Hamra. A lot of restaurants and shops around the area. I enjoyed the hotel and the location very much. Also, the staff was amazing. They helped me out with a lot of things and I really appreciate it.
the welcoming, it was exceptional! the room is big, and very clean. They give free nescafe everyday which is something I didn't notice in other hotels in lebanon! the swimming pool is big and beautiful. This made us extend our stay for 3 more days!
1- location was on the Hamrah road near all hops, coffee shops and shopping
2- hotel is clean
3- staff are friendly and courteous
4- the room rate was reasonable
5- easy to get taxis and Uber
6- nice views, you can see the sea from the roam
Staff were very kind and helpful. Location is great, right in the middle of cafes, shops, bars and restaurants in Hamra. The room was spacious, very clean, beautifully decorated. Beds were comfortable. Hotel has character.
great little hotel in the heart of Hamra, room is spacious, comfortable bed and despite being in a busy area it’s relatively quiet. Staff is amazing and helpful. I’ll come back again!
