We loved staying in this spacious home! We felt comfortable and at home right away. Everything was clean and easy to find. Thank you for opening up your home!
Beautiful views of the sea, especially sunrise. Great mountain views. It was uncharacteristically cold and windy so no hiking but trails exist. Easy access to the national park with black beaches, lighthouses, lava tubes and volcano views. Nothing open in winter, you'll have to drive to Arnarstapi (5 minutes) or 30 min around the peninsula for any food or fuel.

Great location to explore the peninsula and lots of walks...
Great location to explore the peninsula and lots of walks from Hellnar along the coast. Eating options are quite limited but the food at our hotel was excellent so we were happy to eat there each night.
Great location at the end of the peninsula after a busy day exploring. Not much nearby - but nice walk down to beach (with cafe). Hotel rooms are cosy but clean and comfortable - timber framed so not much noise insulation. We had a great stay for one night as a family of four with two sea view rooms - and were pleasantly surprised how good the restaurant food was considering how remote the hotel is. Very impressed by how friendly all the staff were - every single one said hello/good morning etc with a smile as you passed them
Wonderful location on the water, watched the sun rise over coffee from the restaurant in the morning. We had 2 rooms, our Room was not large, but spacious enough for a couple and our luggage. Very clean, Comfortable, a small window could be opened to allow air flow and cooling during sleep.
Dinner was FABULOUS. Our party of 5 all selected different entrees and they were all delicious.
Staff were kind and gracious, breakfast was also quite good. No complaints!~
Beautiful location, perfect stop after coming in from airport and doing many activities on the peninsula. Amazing breakfast and friendly staff. Must do the walk Hellnar to Arnarstapi Hike behind the hotel. Perfect to do right behind hotel and go eat dinner in Arnarstapi and we ate at Stapin restaurant (amazing fish and chips and draft beer) and walked back. Perfect hotel
The location is great. The town of Hellnar is little more than a hotel, these accommodations, an old church and access to a wonderful seaside trail that starts at a charming little cafe perfect for a post hike beer or soup and bread. If the weather cooperates you’ll have great views of the glacier out one window and ocean out the other.
The location was amazing, the place was clean, and it was super quiet in Hellnar. It's also walking distance to the "hotel" in Hellnar, and they have a very good restaurant.
Hellnar was a perfect base for us to do some day trips around the peninsula. It's also close to some of the popular attractions.
The staff were amazing, kind and helpful.
The location was perfect, and the views from the common areas were breathtaking. All of the major sites on the peninsula are a short drive from the hotel.
Parking was easy.
Dinner was exceptional! We felt like we were eating at a 5 star restaurant.
staff are very friendly. we were forced to stay one more night because roads are closed due to weather condition. we asked the staff a lot of questions and they are very helpful to address our concerns. hotel manger is also helpful on this matter. very appreciate.
The hotel was really nice, as well as the staff and we had an excellent dinner in the restaurant. It is also quite nicely located near the sea with a nice view. If you are going around the Snaefellsnes peninsula, it is a great place to stay.
Great hotel close to the national park and many of the local walking trails. The rooms were spacious and modern. The breakfast was fantastic and the restaurant served quality but expensive meals (expensive for Australians at least).
The hotel is beautiful. It is clean and well decorated. The view was amazing! Our room was clean and the bed was comfy. Check in was easy. It was very quiet. The restaurant for breakfast was great. Overall, great place.
Location is right to get the best of the coastline without being in Arnarstapi. Meals were wonderful, the staff were welcoming and extremely helpful. 5 ⭐
