There is a variety of slopes to enjoy snowboarding and the proximity of other resorts gives a lot of options.
Due to it were not much fresh snow during the stay, a backcountry side is yet to be discovered in future.

Good skiing with everything you need within close proximity.
Good skiing with everything you need within close proximity. However, if you are looking for an authentic Japanese exeprience, you are not going to find it in Hakuba. There are a lot of foreigners and many of the establishment workers are foreigners as well.

The buses to get to other ski fields and around Happo One...
The buses to get to other ski fields and around Happo One are somewhat confusing but it seems that there are more buses than on the timetables so that is a bonus. Many lifts start at 8am, so ideally one would have breakfast at 6:30 so one could get an early bus, but may be a challenge finding accommodation that does this.

It’s a ski and snow lover paradise.
It’s a ski and snow lover paradise. A small town with not so much city vibe, but best for snow or ski experience. It’s the idyllic charm that stands out for me. Everything u need for snow and ski experience is available there, for rent or to buy.

Snow was great, the town was very cute.
Snow was great, the town was very cute. Most of all, it wasn't that busy and lift have good space. Plenty of slops to choose from, and great restaurants, shops to go around after ski. Especially onsen was one of the great thing to add after the ski!

Hakuba is great and very welcoming.
Hakuba is great and very welcoming. The people and food are amazing. The skiing was great given the snow levels were lower than normal. The only thing to keep in mind is the bus service, while convenient can get crowded and does not run as much as it maybe should. A car would definitely be a great asset to have.
We stayed at Hotel Soyokaze for 12 nights and had the best time. It is possibly the best location in Echoland - close to cafes, ski hire, best restaurants, multiple bus shuttles and convenience stores.
Takao went above and beyond all expectation. Very helpful for resort recommendations (and discounted tickets!), dinner reservations, transport and general chit chat. We loved our time at Hotel Soyokaze and will not be staying anywhere else when we are back at Hakuba!
Friendly staff that are willing to go the extra mile. Rooms are newly renovated and clean. Free coffee station available in the common area. Short walk to the ski resort shuttle bus stop. Short walk to Echo Land where there are several restaurants, rental equipment stores etc. We have stayed in many places in Hakuba over the last few years, and this was certainly one of the best in terms of value for money and room furnishings.
Room equipments very new / modern / everything really clean and organized nice decoration .
Has own massage chair inside room ( good after ski for us ).
Easy to book hotel’s outdoor private onsen ( we did many time per day as no one book it ).
Owner and wife so kind and very helpful , help to pick up us from train station too.
Yummy breakfast if you like western food.
Our family plan to come back again
My partner and I stayed in the Japanese style room. It was very spacious and welcoming. It’s a great hotel to stay at if you’re snowboarding skiing as they have storage facilities. We loved the private onsen and booked it most nights. The view of the mountains from our window was particularly magical. The staff were very helpful and attentive. We were sad to leave. Thank you Hakuba Hotel Ougiya!
This hotel is bigger than a family-run hotel but feels Japanese hospitality . Big room with the Japanese decor and surprisingly comfy futon atop tatami mats. They have dry room underground floor. Medium size bathroom (onsen) in hotel. Located in the heart of Hakuba city near bus stop to many ski fields. "Woody" Equipment rental shop is only 20 steps away, and there's a discount available.
- The hotel staff is very helpful and kind. They picked me up even late in the evening. A very helpful service
- The hotel staff also is very kind to drop me and other travelers to the ski resort
- The in hotel public bath is specious and great to relax
- I am staying at the bunk bed and I even get an extra space for storage. Very thoughtful of the hotel
The hotel is very near Happo One and close to Iwatake if one were interested in hiking or seeing the sights there. Also close to some fantastic restaurants and the area itself is very scenic, with beautiful tiny bridges and spectacular view of the mountains. Taproom is also very nice and staff were very helpful, even driving us to a wonderful izakaya.
It was conveniently located to Tokyu Hotel where we caught all our shuttles to the ski resorts, and also only a few minutes walk to F&B and gear rentals. The space we had was also great for our family of 4, allowing us to dine around a table and play games each night. Having a washing machine, cooking facilities and a strong heater was super handy.
This place was fantastic. Mountain cabin in a distinctly Japanese style. It's not especially walkable but Toshi will shuttle you around the valley, including to Happo One ski resort. Just need to take a taxi if you're trying to get back after dinner time. Private onsen was really nice. Toshi and his wife were wonderful hosts, easily recommend.
The location is quite convenient. Walking distance to the busy area where we can find restaurants and bars.
The room has decent size, and we love the Japanese style room.
The onsen - both indoor and outdoor, is quite nice. We were able to relax after a day of snowboarding.
You can also get discount ticket for several nearby ski resorts.
The chair lift at Sakru 2 is just 30 away from the hotel. It is rather convenient to access Happo one. However you would need to buy the ski ticket in advance at the ticket office because the chair lift station did not provide sales of ski passes. Use the short cut via Petit hotel shitaka for faster access to chair lift.
The hotel is quite a walk from the resort center, but its surrounded by a beautiful forest and is right below Happo One. The rooms were clean and had a small kitchenet with a microwave. The staff were also kind enough to give my wife and I a ride to the village center.
Next to free shuttle bus stop to ski resorts. Breakfast was excellent. Also provided discounted ski tickets for Hakuba 47 and Happo One. Free pick up and drop offs. Very hospitable and proactive with local advice on your daily activities.
Nice and helpful staffs. Free Goryu ski resort shutter bus stop right in front of the hotel. Walkable distance to Escal plaza and snowfileld( not on ski boot). Breakfast is also good. Hotel itself is a bit old though.
The location is perfect, steps away from a good ski rental place and the gondola at Happo One. The common room was welcoming, if not a little cold at times. The staff we accommodating and friendly.
location was great. very close to Echoland. lots of restaurants around. Shuttle bus stop right outside the hotel. Breakfast was in Japanese style and very nice. Great that the hotel has an onsen.
Marcos is a legend, very helpful in whatever you need. The location is ski in ski out so very easy to get first tracks. Goryu is connected to Hakuba 47 so easy to ski both mountains.
we stay this hotel 4 days for ski in Hakuba Goryu Ski Resort.
this hotel is not far away this resort.
The service is nice and speaking English is no problem.
Well located in Happo One ski resort area, very helpful and friendly staff, clean and comfortable onsen (hot spring) available for guests, room is very cozy.
