A wholesome town just outside of Queenstown. I could've stayed here weeks. It was a great location to be based at for Roy's Peak Summit, more hiking and days spent by the lake. Wanaka itself is a lovely spot.
Wanaka itself is a lovely spot. It was lovely without being too much of a tourist trap. The art gallery I visited was very good, and the two local restaurants also good and reasonably priced. The staff at the Thai restaurant were especially friendly and helpful. I wish I had stayed long enough to drive out to a few places from Wanaka.AAnonymous

We were able to get 1 -1/2 weeks of laundry washed in the on-site laundry space. They had hot tubs up on a hill with a view, that we were sad we didn't have time to use. Close to Wanaka city center and walkable to some restaurants. The staff was warm, kind and so very helpful.
