We loved the Church of St.
We loved the Church of St. Peter and Paul - they feature vivid and colourful stained glass windows made by Harry Clarke. We were in there for way longer than we anticipated, the art was so detailed and interesting. We found handy parking round the back of the castle, but it was February and was quiet so no problems there.

It was a very friendly town, with many pubs, cafe's and restaurants. Sean's Bar had a very good live music duo. We ate at The Fatted Cow, which served excellant food in a professional and friendly atmosphere.The town itself was easy to get around with good transport links to other towns and cities. The location is just a few kilometers from Athlone, which is in the center of Ireland. This made it ideal for us as we were looking to visit areas all over the island. The apartment is quaint and comfortable on a very quiet country lane. But most of all, our hosts were absolutely the best. The checking in process is simple. The rooms are very spacious, clean, comfortable, and quiet. The large TV in each room also has loads of TV channels to view. The staff are very polite and courteous, and it definitely beats other 5 star hotels that I have stayed in. I will always stay here, whenever I am in Athlone.
