The room was big and had 2 toilets and one bathroom. Great for a family of 4. The two large double beds were very comfortable for 4 adults. There was a 24-hour family mart just next to the hotel.

Grocery store nearby is quite big, good to get snack and sourvenior from there. Sheng Nong Street is within walking distance, food choices nearby too.
The hotel staffs are friendly, to answer our query regarding train to travel back to Kaohsiung as we have three big luggages which might cause a problem when taking train during peak hours.
The male staff in the morning also helped us call the driver to arrange for bigger car to drive us to Kaohsiung Airport. As Tainan Uber Apps do not have choice to select for bigger car and we did not have Taiwan phone number to call for taxi. In the end the driver that he called was so great attitude too!

Anping sights would definitely take up the whole day.
Anping sights would definitely take up the whole day. Tainan is a lovely place to be with an excellent variety of history, cultural sites, temples, markets, and general fun things to do. Could definitely have stayed longer than 2 full days for a few extra day trips nearby, and to try more of the local things.

Traditional city that almost represents the development history of Taiwan city, including the building, religion and the famous street food. Actually Tainan keeps its unique culture of Taiwan city, then based on the culture attracting a big scale of Taiwan humanities and cultures.

Tainan is known for local delicacies, which we found to be true. The night market is not crowded and you can buy many delicious items without waiting in line. The Chimei Museum is nearby and we enjoyed visiting it.

Tainan was awesome. There is so much to see and do! The free cultural walking trip of the Confucius Temple and other parts of Tainan was amazing (Emma was my tour guide- she was extremely knowledgeable, her English was excellent, and she was so informative). Anping area had a ton of culture, a market, Temples, and amazing food to enjoy. I also enjoyed the Garden night market (different markets are open on different days). It was busy and crowded but there were so many great vendors selling clothes, jewelry, electronics, and more. The food selection was also impeccable. I was only in Tainan for a day and a half. I would have spent a few more if I had the time!

Tainan is an underrated, if not, underappreciated city that withholds treasures of different sorts for you, the traveler, to discover. The cheap, delectable street food is not to be missed, in addition to the hot sunny days, which could be a relief if you happen to be traveling from the miserably humid city of Taipei.
That said, Tainan is best explored on bike/scooter, as many attractions are spread out with quite some distance in between. Fortunately, Tainan's government offers electric YouBikes for rental, which could ease the pedaling by quite a bit.
We were upgraded to a larger room (for 3) despite booking a twin bed at the last minute, which was very lovely of the staff. The room was very spacious and the staff were very flexible with check-in and letting us leave our luggage on-site prior to check-in. This is in a good central location with the bus stop very close by. Best of all, there are no odd smells (beware: there are a few budget hotels in Tainan that smell very strongly of smoke and this was the reason we had to switch to this hotel after the first night at our original booking).
the staff were super friendly and the room was awesome! it was very clean, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was spacious. they gave us free water, snacks, tea, coffee, etc. and the breakfast was also really yummy! it was mostly taiwanese-style options but they also had some bread/toast available if you’re looking for something slightly more western. they also have luggage storage if you want to explore more of tainan after checkout! only about a 10 minute walk to the train station so it’s very convenient
The hotel's staff are welcoming. They even have a staff there to press the lift for us all the time at the lobby. They provide snacks at 11th floor which i am so impressed as tge weather in tainan is super hot. We need rest all the time and we appreciate it. They also provide shuttle service but i didnt realise it so i miss the service. The bus stand is just few steps away from the hotel. The tranportation is easy. The girl who works morning shift during my stay is very informative.
This was an excellent choice as a base for a few days sightseeing in Tainan old town. Very comfortable room, great breakfast buffet and lovely staff. The only inconvenience was that the hotel catering outlets were closed or not serving food on a weekday evening, so we had to go out in the pouring rain to find somewhere to eat. But this will not deter us from booking the Grand Banyan again when we go back to Tainan in a few weeks time.
For breakfast there are the dishes for Oxidental food, Tailand food, Indian Food and local Taiwanese food. The regular coffee is extremely wonderful and rare for most travellers.
The hotel upgraded my room for awarding my re-visit to this hotel within 3-month.
The Shanghai Pavilion is a very nice place to enjoy the food of Shanghai style; the process of cooking for the food of Shanghai is quite subtle & delicate.
-location is perfect, there’s shuttle bus from Tainan HSR station to the hostel (Confucius Temple)
-there’s coffee machine and biscuit in common area
-I stayed 1 night in female dormitory room, the bedding, shower and toilet are very clean. There are facial and body care products for use, also hair dryer.
-interior deco is unique but also cozy, surrounded by plenty of books
Great Hotel.
It’s situated near Tainan train station (8 minutes of walking).
The staff is very welcoming, and speaks good English (which was NOT the case when I was in Tapei).
The room is sufficiently large, clean, and with a lot of light.
A had a good view of the city from my room.
I find the price really average for the service served.
I do recommend.
Nice, comfy, simple room in a really good location in Tainan. The property has a comfy, quiet atmosphere, not quite that of a hotel but not of a hostel either. The owner is helpful and it's easy to communicate with him when you need something. The complimentary drinks and biscuits were a nice touch.
Room was large, clean and comfortable. Location was really convenient. We would have stayed longer if we could have. Tainan was a lovely city full of interesting history and good food. Hotel upgraded us for free. Excellent value for money. Snacks and water available when needed - nice touch.
The staffs are friendly and helpful. We booked the shuttle transfer from hotel to Tainan train station but we are early so they help us to book a taxi instead. The breakfast is delicious and tasty. There are local seasonal food and the varieties are different everyday. We have a great stay.
Good location on Tainan. I can easy go anywhere popular spots. Staffs are nice. It’s hard to park the car around there. I’m happy I booked this hotel. They have their own car park. That is one of the reason I booked this hotel. I willing to book this hotel next time when I go to Tainan.
Quirky charming older type hotel, in fabulous location. Very close to the 'slower older railway station', not HSR station. Excellent breakfast with many local food choices. Found the staff extremely helpful in reception. Room staff pleasant too. Recommended.
I would call this place as Homestay. All the decors brought me back in time, mixed with Japanese and Taiwanese styles. It locates in small and quiet alleys, makes the trip to Tainan nostalgic.
The hotel is in front of Tainan train station which is about 200m away and directly in front of the hotel, there is a bus stop which is very convenient to travel around to the attractions.
The overall cleanliness of the hotel and rooms surpass many of the hotels in Taiwan. The room is very well designed and it is very practical. The breakfast was great.
The location was convenient, close to train station. The front desk was very friendly, she checked us in before 3 pm and let us to keep the luggage in the hotel.
So clean and comfortable to stay. I really like to stay in prince hotel.. if I will back to Tainan I will stay in prince hotel again. Thank you very much.
