Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe bungalows we booked looked out into the sea. The view was lovely and the area peaceful and quiet- yes there is a road running in front of the bungalows but it was fairly quiet and was not a problem for us. Mark and Minnie were great hosts and it was enjoyable spending time with them at the bar/restaurant. There isn’t much around the immediate area- thats what we liked- but you can walk to the port and the 7/11 in 5-10 minutes and then it’s just a little further into the main shopping/bar area. We walked the other way to a lovely seafood restaurant on a pier and had a delicious meal. You can also hire mopeds if you would like to see the rest of the island. We stayed 3nights here and 3nights on a bigger resort on the other side of the island and the mix of both was perfect… even though we didn’t want to leave Minnie sea view.

United KingdomLots of bits of glass in sea washed up on beach but ok as just wore flip flops when going in .
The peaceful, calm , laid back relaxed feeling the resort has - simple but everything you need . Walk across road to beach and able to get to all parts of the island easily using taxis that passed regularly . Breakfast was lovely . It was so good we booked a 3 rd night whilst there !

Belgiumthere is a small road running between the bungalows and the beach, which you have to cross. Generally very quiet but the occasional scooter whizzes by.
Great cute hotel at the seaside, spacious clean rooms with comfy beds. The restaurant and bar provides nice food and drink and you can rent a scooter to explore the island (can be done in 1 day, beach hopping). Its just 10 min walk from the pier and crowded area, so you get access to the restaurants and shops.

United KingdomThe simple chalet type accommodation is clean, comfortable and with air conditioning. The verandah is pleasant to sit on with a chair and table to watch the world go by, giving the feeling of being in a Thai village rather than a bubble resort. The small private beach across the road is kept clean and tidy and is very quiet with lovely views to the hills of the mainland and boat activity on the water. Quality Thai and Western food is available at the bar and can be enjoyed on the beach or on your verandah. The owners Mark and Minnie are on hand and with Mark being originally from the UK and Minnie being Thai, it makes for a very easy stay for English speakers, we learnt a lot about Koh Samet. The pier and village centre are within easy walking distance.

CanadaDidn't like the main road running right past the rooms , lots of traffic. The water pressure was very poor could hardly shower , toilet had to be flushed 2-3 times , beds are extremely uncomfortable
The beach was nice , good smoothies and food at the bar , very close to the beach

IrelandSome noise from road passing through but didn't bother us too much.
Amazing location just a few steps from the beach, the room was spacious and very clean. The beach/bar area was beautiful and well maintained. Minnie was helpful in booking us a boat trip and allowing us to rent a scooter during our stay.

BelgiumTV reception was poor. But we didn't need it. Some noise of passing traffic as the room are located at the main road.
Nice view from our room. Direct view of the sea. But unfortunately not really a location to perform a swim. Great to have breakfast on the beach.

United KingdomI think it was all great!
The food was yummy and reasonably priced. My villa faced the sea and although on a small road it was no bother for me I quite enjoyed people watching as people went by. Bed was comfy. Cute dogs 🐕 location was great 15min walk to town. Staff very friendly and spoke good English! A lady came each morning collecting sharp objects off the beach so the beach was always safe to walk on. This beach I feel is the best most quiet one. I was one of few people the whole time and I came to relax and not be bothered so it was perfect for me. The sea was clear and calm. I walked to the other beaches and they had waves and people galore so I was very pleased with my choice. For the price I cant complain it had everything I needed I did not go in expecting the ritz! :) would defo stay again.

NetherlandsDue to the weather there were a lot of sand flees so not very comfortable to stay on the beach for a long time. Location is nice and quiet and non touristy but that said needed transportation (or same walk every time) to find some excitement.
The location of the bungalow was nice: quiet and with indeed a sea view. The room itself was spacious, clean with free water/thee/coffee every day. The owner was very friendly and helpful with e.g. arranging a last minute motorbike. Bed was comfy. Walking distance from the ferry.
