Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Nothing. I think the hotel could offer a breakfast, or some food. Although there are restaurants near by, it is not clear that they are open early enough for breakfast
The attention of the personnel and in the room, makes you feel so much welcome. It is really nice. The room was fantastic, and old style at the same time. I think this is a great place

Parking was 29 euro per day , a bit steep and the air conditioning was turned off at 10 PM each night so if it was a hot day then the room remained hot.
Well located in old town centre close to most things.

The location is very central in a nice neighborhood, yet quiet so we slept well. It's clean and the interior design is very nice. We arrived late and the staff was so friendly and forthcoming to call us and make a late check-in possible. I can really recommend the place.

No heating in the bathroom, so that was cold. Nois from hall, other rooms and the cafe outside
Spacious room. Very clean. Also the bathroom. Safe carpark if you dare negotiate your way among the crazy bicyclists and bring a car to the Hague

More tea, coffee and milk supplies for free. However, you could purchase more coffee capsules.
Centrally located. Spotlessly clean, very comfortable room. Friendly staff. They provided secure bike parking,although it was not sheltered. Staff were eager to please. Good toiletries and a hairdryer.

At night the cafes fill up with happy Dutch people-very authentic and fun, also loud. I asked to be put on the quiet side so it didn’t bother me.
Very pretty building for this old family owned hotel in historic center of denHaag. Lots of nice shops , cafes, lovely to walk around and explore. Very friendly greeting from staff. An elevator! Lovely big room and nice bathroom and tub. Convenient tram lines. Near theaters and museums.

Cleaning was random - something different each day - never everything. Breakfast was OK but clearly not a focus for the hotel

Breakfast seemed to be a major challenge. We had to ask for everything and felt we were expected to get breakfast elsewhere.
Beds v comfortable and rooms generally well fitted out. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

The only thing we can find to complain about is the lack of a magnifying mirror in the bathroom.
Exceptional staff and the location could not have been better. Welcoming coffee and brownies is a charming touch.

We stayed one night at the hotel in room 306, which overlooks the street. Although the room overlooks the street, it is quiet, and we were not disturbed by noise. The room was impeccably clean, and the beds were very comfortable. Our bathroom had a bath, and I took the opportunity to have a bath, my first in a long time - wonderful and relaxing as we have a shower at home. With any hotel, the staff is at the front of everything, and the staff that we met, from the front of the house to others, were great ambassadors for the hotel. All were welcoming, friendly, and professional at all times. I would 100% stay at this small hotel again and recommend it to anyone who visits Den Haag; it is right in the centre and close to bus and tram routes. Shops, restaurants, and museums are all within five minutes walking distance.

Unfortunately the hotel is directly above a street with many restaurants and cafes. Potentially this can be a problem depending on the day of the week. Closer to the weekend you will definitely get street noise which can go until very late
Paleis is a lovely hotel convenient to the centre restaurants and tourist attractions, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and very clean. A bar fridge would have been nice
