The price is high for what you receive, and if you reserve a private room as family you won’t get bath towels they charge you for the towels (they don’t inform you this before). It’s doesn’t make sense, because other people will receive “free” towels, but if you room is “family room” you won’t receive.

I liked just one member of staff.. I met him on my second day, the rest staff members were either cold or could not care less about answering my questions

Bathrooms were very small and dirty, the one in my room was covered head to toe in mold. It smelled pretty bad even after having been cleaned as well. The building used to be an old lab so the windows don't open, so the fan in the room just circulates gross warm air.

The location was very convenient and the breakfast was sufficient. The common spaces were comfortable and the activities offered by the hostel we're fun.

Did not get rooms facing Canal, despite previous requests. Needless charge to store luggage for few hours after check out. Just a fan in the room, unopenable windows, occasionally stuffy. Bed mattress too thin.

The private bathroom shower would make everything wet during showering. The room was almost in the basement and you couldn’t open the windows. The bed was small

The room was very bright, it was like sleeping with bright lights on. This was my first time staying in a private room, they might not all be like this

Love this hostel, have stayed in it a few times now. Lots going on, free ferry which runs 24/7 to the main bars in amsterdam.

Very noisy group of guys were allowed to bang on pipes, slam doors, shout room to room for too long (they had to respect quiet hours, so sleep wasn’t a problem). Soap, shampoo, conditioner were completely out and not refilled.

Great location. Private room with bunk was good for two friends traveling. Rental bikes were good quality, value & easy to arrange. Interesting building (former Shell research facility) with beautiful & unique stained glass windows. Breakfast was ok & kitchen seemed well set up for self-catering.

There was no heating in our room, and we were very cold. The bathroom was very small, and it would have been nice to have at least a small table next to our beds. The towel I received was dirty.

Quickly accessible from the train station, it is in a good location. The receptionists are very nice, the check-in went quickly. I liked that the checkout was automatic. Good thing there was an elevator, we had heavy luggages. I liked that there are different programs and there is also a library.

everything was fine.

I took the breakfast just for one morning, it was delicious and there were many different options for breakfast cultures. There is a free ferry from the main train station to the side where the hotel is located, 24/7. The ferry takes less than 5 minutes and from there to the hotel is not even 5 minutes. It's a cool area with university buildings and alternative food places. There is a supermarket in the back street of the hotel. I will stay here again on my next trip.
