Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThis was our third hotel in Tokyo and I would say the location perhaps isn’t the best if it’s your first time in Tokyo. Asakusa and Kuramae are both really interesting neighbourhoods, plus Tokyo Skytree is very close, but it is quite far from the main sights of Tokyo. Not a huge problem if you’re willing to hop on the metro for 30-40mins though.
Such a cool hotel, great interiors and very popular coffee shop. The reception staff were lovely. I didn’t catch the name of the person who checked us in but he was very friendly and gave me some recommendations on nearby galleries and shops that he thought I might like. Most of the other hotels we stayed at in Tokyo were self-check in so this felt very attentive. The room was also surprisingly large for Tokyo which was great as our final stop in Japan.

NetherlandsIt depends on where you want to be in Tokyo if you like this location or not. We fell in love with Asakusa, but it will take quite some public transport time to go to Shibuya or Shinjuku.
We really love the The Share hotels, this was the third one we stayed in. This one is in a quiet residential area, around 10-15 minutes walk to Asakusa, public transport and the Senso-ji temple. Our room (2 beds and 2 beds above them on a wooden platform) was big enough for 3 (2 parents and 1 young adult daughter) and comfortable. A family room with a bit of privacy as well. Nice badroom with really good shower. The beds are firm and te pillows too, it depends on your taste if you like that or not. 7-Eleven at 6 minutes walk. Like all the The Shares, you can do payed laundry (wash and dry) and have complimentary drinks and tea. Breakfast is available if you want to, but we like the 7-Eleven onigiri’s more. We also loved walking around the Senso-ji temple area after dark, so beautiful and peaceful.

United Arab EmiratesOnly minor inconvenience was the entrance of the room where there was very little space to store luggage.
The hotel is located in a quiet neighbourhood while not being too far from the Asakusa subway station and the Skytree. Common areas and rooms were very clean and well maintained. Staff were very polite and extremely helpful. Overall, it was a wonderful stay.

We loved it! Very light and spacious. Will definitely come back as we all had our own bed. A washing machine and dryer room located downstairs. And in 10min walking distance from ASAKUASA.

Everything and more. Mr Taro at check in counter was the friendliest, kindest, most helpful staff. It brightens our day to see him every morning. He went above and beyond which made our stay one of the most memorable part of our trip.

ThailandWater - to refill the provided water jug in the room, you have to go down to the basement where there is a water filter machine. On the whole, this is a minor issue. Just something to bear in mind if you are the lazy type.
Room: superior double room. The room itself was spacious compared to hotel rooms in general in Tokyo as it was 30sqm. This was naturally reflected in the price. Bed - comfortable, appropriate for 2 people to sleep comfortably and unlike a number of hotels in the city, one side of the bed wasn't up against the wall. Having the extra sofa/bed was nice but perhaps unnecessary if there are only 2 of you staying. Workspace - the table and chair were a positive for me as I needed to work from a laptop. WiFI connection was stable and fast during my stay. Lighting - in the room was good for me; not to bright, not too dim. Shower/bathroom - clean, good size, essential toiletries provided Facilities/amenities - nice cafe on G/1F Decor/design - clean, minimal, soft colours Staff - friendly, welcoming, knowledgeable Distance from Asakusa station - not too far, a 10-15 walk (with luggage) and easy enough to find.
