Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CroatiaYou should bring your own hair dryer which was minus for us and you'll need few extra towels if you are staying more days like we did (5 nights) so keep this in your mind. Equipment of the room should be better.
The host (Davide) was really communicative and nice. His respondings to my e-mail questions were really fast (advantage). Firstly we booked an apartment with shared toilet by mistake but thanks to Davide's fast respondings we made a deal to switch to personal room with personal toilet (paid the difference of the price of course). It is worth for money that you're paying because the location is good (it's around 15-20 minutes to Colosseo), the metro station which takes you to Vaticano is 5 minutes walking from this place and also there is a bus station 3 minutes walking. A lot of small shops and restaurants around the apartment too.

DenmarkIt was expensive. The shower stopped after a few minutes. They could have given us a towel to dry our hands after washing them.
We liked the location - very close to the center of Rome. The bed was comfortable and the staff let us check in at 11 am to leave our bags and explore Rome a couple of hours more without a heavy bag. Not much noise during the night due to the location.

AustriaIncluded all the essentials and everything which was promissed at the booking. We felt very much welcomed at our arrival. Although it might not be the most luxurious accommodation, the staff was outstandingly friendly and ready to help with whatever request! The location was good, the center is within walking distance and anyway the accommodation was well connected to the public transport.

Australiathe bathroom needs some work done. It is dirty with lots of stains. the shower leaks, the shower curtain is too small, so lots of water ends up on the floor. the kitchen could do with a microwave instead of a mini oven. there is no where to sit down and eat your food, only in your room.
the property was easy to find and close to the metro.

SwedenRoom standard is quite low and it is more like a cheap hostel with private bathroom than a hotel. We enjoyed our stay anyhow though
When checking in we got some great tips for getting the best experience of Rome that we found invaluable. The place is also located very conveniently in the city centre. The Lateral church closeby is a must to visit.

TurkeyIt is not possible to open the window shutters, so daylight does not come into the room. Shared bathtube is old but it is okay.
It feels safe. Staff was really helpful, thank you David! The room was big and clean. The hotel has a small oven and a fridge that you can store your food. The apartment has a nice indoor garden. Water temperature in the shared bathroom has no problem.

SlovakiaWhat I appreciate most about this place is one of the most pleasant and friendly receptionists. He gave us lots of advice about the city, helped us find a parking space and even offered us a welcome shot of rum! The room was a bit dark but clean, the facilities simple but sufficient, only the bed was a bit uncomfortable. Also good location (Colosseum within a 20-minute walk)

JapanThere are very few kitchen tools, only an oven, a refrigerator, and a small sink that are common used. It would be better if they have a microwave and a water kettle.
The room is clean. I liked the staff as well. He was friendly, helpful, and kind. They provided us with towols and city map for free.

CanadaYou can hear other travellers using the washroom and roaming the hallway. Soap/body wash should be provided.
The room was spacious however only provided the bare minimum being a bed and washroom. Not many outlets, and hand soap/shampoo/body soap is not provided. The location is prime, however would only be ideal for travellers who only require a place to rest their heads at the end of a long day. 100% recommend the private bathroom. The host David is incredible! - he made this stay worth it. Extremely knowledgable and will take his time to ensure you are having a great stay - gives you tips/tricks and local insight on Rome.

CanadaThe beds are not super comfortable, and the shower head is quite low. I'd also suggest to systematically leave the key in the metallic windows, as it is the fastest way out in case of an emergency (it also keeps the room cool).
The host is super friendly and helpful. Great wifi! The rooms are quite large and the place is fairly well located.

United KingdomToilet was really dirty. The shower head was broken. The bathroom really let the property down. I checked out before 10am so was not charged for a late checkout. The feedback that owner has given is deceptive and bathroom really needs to be worked on.
