Our room was above the neighbouring restaurant and at the end of the day the noise from staff was dreadful. 11.30pm and they are talking at the top of their voices, throwing bottles into bags. Much worse than the noise from the restaurant when it was open.

The location was excellent. Close to train and both old and new parts of the town in Monterosso. Reception staff was lively and very helpful.

I thought would be lots of noise from bar/restaurant downstairs but it was okay when closing the windows.

The location was amazing, right in front of the beach. Room was clean and bathroom (shower) was OK size for 3-day stay. Staff was helpful - great restaurant recommendations and also we forgot a charger in the room and she quickly whatsapp me after check out to come back and pick up.

If I were to return there are only two things I would do differently: 1) try and get a room with a view of the water, and 2) take the train to Monterosso al Mare instead of drive. The train station is only a few feet from the hotel. Plus, there is no need for a car in the Cinque Terre and parking in the public parking lot is $25 per day.

The location was excellent. The check-in staff was friendly, efficient and offered good information. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. I loved being able to borrow a Rick Steves travel book on the Cinque Terre from the bookshelf outside our room! Getting morning coffee next door and sitting by the water outside the hotel was especially memorable.

The wifi kept going in and out . Worked on one side of room and not the other .

The Lady in reception was outstanding. She explained everything about the room , gave us a map with suggestions of things to do and restaurant reception Also our ceiling fan was not working and it was hot . While we were out she sent me a message and put a fan in our room. We were so grateful. The location is beachfront and close to every thing.

The soundproofing isn’t great and I could hear someone’s alarm going off in the morning, also the shower was very powerful but the hot water ran out quite quickly and I had to wash my conditioner out with cold water - a little sign letting guests know to turn shower off whilst shampooing or to use water sparingly to ensure it didn’t run out would be helpful

The location is great - very close to the train station and on the path for walking along the coast, as well as being close by to restaurants. I had a single occupancy room but it had a double bed and a fantastic sea view. The staff were all really nice and helpful which is very reassuring for a solo female traveller. There were some extras in the room such as a bottle of water, a fridge, and a charging dock with USB ports, which were all really appreciated. The shower room was compact but the shower was powerful. All in all a great stay and I would definitely stay again.

Our room was very clean and simple, with a side view that included the ocean, even though it was not advertised as a waterview room which was a nice surprise. Central location near the train station and with great restaurants located right out the front door. Great location for traveler's looking to be in town and get out and about!

your manager, Hillary, was very stern at the start regarding the check in regulations, and very understandably so, but once we got there, she was terrific..... so helpful, so nice, so friendly, and we appreciated her greatly..... she MADE our stay at the Agavi. another great point was our view to the water..... very nice, and leaving the window open for the sounds of the waves lapping on the beach was wonderful. the pricing was decent... providing a good value for what seemed like a hostel more than a hotel.... good pricing is critical to make up for the room size and the extremely small bathroom. also, the little coffee shop/convenience store right in the building was great for early morning coffee and cake. the outside seating overlooking the beach was also very nice!

1. Lady receiving us kept saying if we wanted to know about restaurants or tours to contact Booking.com, not her. She was not very friendly upon our reception. 2. Our room had a view of the sea if you put your head out the window and turned to the right. 3. Very noisy with bar below throwing glass bottles in trash can.

Lack or air conditioning means the room does get warm. However, there is a ceiling fan and windows open to sea breezes so was manageable.

Walking distance from the train station. Our room was small but had ocean views which were stunning. Next door there is a great cafe & bar. After day tourist left the town it was peaceful and easy to get around at night with plenty of restaurants to choose from.

The Meublè Agavi is not a luxury 5-star hotel. Instead, it is a small, neat, clean facility with a great location directly across the street from the shore of the Mediterranean Sea. It is also very near the Monterosso train station. The hotel is operated by Hillary, a most warm and welcoming person. Agavi is in an older building that houses some other businesses in addition to the hotel (not unusual for Europe). Reception for Agavi is on the "Floor 1" which is one floor above the "Ground Floor". Be aware: The front desk closes at 4PM. Guests are given 3 keys to access the (1) street entrance to the building, (2) the door to the Floor 1 area where the rooms are and (3) to your specific room. The rooms are small and Spartan, but very clean and neat. Our bed was comfortable. The bath was clean and functional. Our stay was during September and the weather was warm. However, I did not see a radiator in the room, so if you plan to stay during cold weather, you should ask about how the rooms are heated. I highly recommend the Agavi for those traveling on a tight budget.

The hotel and staff were great. No issue with the hotel. Just a comment that much of the beach is private and we were told by beach staff to move to a very crowded public section.

The location is excellent, near the old town, beach access, train station, gelato and restaurants. Hilary is super, helpful and organized, giving great tips on how things work in Cinque Terre.
