Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

United KingdomThere is very little I didn't like. You do have to be aware that the upstairs bedroom has to be accessed by a ladder staircase, and the middle floor vaulted ceiling means that it is difficult to stand straight if you are tall. Whilst the furniture is lovely it would be nice to have some drawers for clothes. It's still wonderful.
The house has so much character and has been restored beautifully. The furniture is beautiful and comfortable and despite being an old house all the facilities are modern and work well. The bed is very comfortable. The outside space is very well designed and very restful. Voula is the very considerate host and should be proud of her beautiful house. To get to the house, you drive up through the modern streets of Gytheio. You can walk to the town and it is a steady climb back up. Gytheio is a lovely town and a fantastic location to base yourself whilst you discover the beautiful Mani.

Very nice place to stay in Gytheio. It's outside the city but you can perfectly go by foot to the port to have dinner. During the day you can also relax outside and refresh with an outside shower! It also has a wonderful rooftop with views to relax. We had a great time there!

DenmarkLovely old house just in walking distance from the town centre. The house is a traditional tower of the region, but fully renovated with lovely design matching the old style. Perfect for families with two children. Everything you would need is there. Beautifully furnished. The owner lives just next to and was indeed very friendly and helpful. Our children loved the cats of the owner. Large terrasse with a view of the old town and the sea. We really enjoyed our stay so much and would love to come back again.

We had a wonderful time at Pythons 1869 which provides accommodation in a traditional “tower house” and is equipped with everything you need for a relaxing holiday. Set in a quiet place a 15 minutes’ walk away from the town center we enjoyed everything: nature, amazing views from our terrace - and fresh products from the garden provided by our host amazing host Voula to whom we send our special thanks and regards.

United StatesWe stayed here during a major heat wave and the middle section where our kids stayed was a little warmer than we would have liked despite air conditioning. The upper bedroom cooled immediately but the room below stayed warm. Our kids used the fans and opened windows so they were okay.
Staying in a restored historical tower was certainly an experience for our family. The surrounding area was awesome. We loved sitting on the patio and looking at the olive trees. The location was perfect for visiting the area, keeping us busy for several days.
