Modern decor, comfortable bed, very clean. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Excellent location for Sculpture Park and Hepworth Museum. Because it is set well back from the main road, it was very quiet. Would definitely stay again.

Absolutely everything it’s a beautiful place in a great location with lovely staff and it’s perfect for a nice tranquil restful evening
As a native of Wakefield I am a bit biased. Having been away for many years it was interesting to see the changes that have been made. One reason for our visit was to meet the curator of the museum. Was very impressed with him, his staff and the facilities offered to the public. Spent 2 hours there. The Hepworth and the sculpture park remain at a very high standard.
The remainder of our visit was one of reviving memories and visiting important places from our past.
Should we require accommodation again, we know where to come. Will also recommend it to our friends.

We travelled for work, and after spending 12 hours at work. the most important thing to look forward to is a clean warm room with a comfortable bed, plenty of hot water for a bath or shower and a good nights sleep, this is the 7th time of staying at the Campanile hotel, so we are really pleased with this hotel.
Good place to eat is the Red Kite pub around a mile away, fantastic food and a family friendly atmosphere.

Too noisy rooms (especially during the weekend), very bad customer service (most staff don't smile, duty manager doesn't care about complaints) swimming/spa requires additional charge and pre-booking, food in the restaurant is not good and overpriced

Great quick visit to the cathedral as closing an hour after we arrived. Stunning interior with view of peregrines on spire (visible and via webcam). City was clean and sunny. Lots of restaurant choices - we went for the Slap & Pickle concession in The Counting House (hands down all three of us said it was the best burger we’d had). The sandstone buildings are stunning. Sadly didn’t have time to visit the Hepworth or YSP but will be back .

Not a welcoming city centre. Most bars had bouncers.
Not a welcoming city centre. Most bars had bouncers. Police in numbers, drafted in for Friday night. Ambulances stationed in the city centre in preparation.
Chip shops shut on Friday night. Restaurants were either very posh and expensive it had sauce bottles and kitchen roll on the tables and still expensive.

We visited The Hepworth Gallery, which was the whole reason for our trip. Wakefield is a pleasant centre to walk round, but could do with more places to eat in the evenings.
Some lovely buildings and structures to see.
Quite simply the worst hotel I have ever had the misfortune to stay at. The bed was had half the springs missing, the quilt and pillow were yellow, the bathroom had yellow grout and the shower was cold and to top it all the coffee tasted like mud. After a 16 hr day I would have expected to sleep (or pass out) but the wall were so thin you could hear the person above going to the toilet and passing wind in the night. Awful place it would have been Breyer sleeping in the van.
The hotel was clean and had tea and coffee making facilities. The staff are pleasant. Restaurant only open Monday to Friday not a large menu but food okay. Everything has to be paid for with credit or debit card even drinks or buying a bar of chocolate! Bus stop for city centre quite close by but buses can be unreliable we waited for well over an hour as one bus didn't turn up. Bus fare £2 per person per journey, so a taxi for a couple or more people is a better choice.
The friendly staff The location near shops and town centre. The delicious food served in the hotel restaurant. The breakfast was beautifully cooked and served. The room was quiet and comfy. Yet the pub and restaurant were just 10 yards away with plenty of music and buzz. Plenty of free parking for guests .Overall The Mews was excellent. It was exactly an English cottage inn with fabulous staff, excellent food and a very comfy and cosy ambience.
The room was lovely, small but had everything I needed. Was looking forward to my "full English" so was a little disappointed when I was offered a sandwich instead (I am not a morning bread person) and the breakfast service felt a little rushed. The evening staff were so polite, a credit to the hotel.
Lovely hotel, really enhoyed our stay. Spacious, comfortable and clean. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Location is great with being so close to the M1 yet still easy access to city centre either by car or public transport. Will definately look at staying again.
Perfect location for us on main Leeds-Wakefield Road. Extremely friendly staff. Easy access. Spacious rooms with amenities such as tea/coffee and mini fridge. Very close to several food places and also there's a co-op mini market about a mile down the road.
Fantastic breakfast; free access to a sports centre opposite the hotel (gym, steam room, swimming pool); easy access to the city centre - there's a bus outside the hotel that runs every 10 mins or so, so you don't need a car.
-The location was convenient as it was in the centre of Wakefield.
-The room was spacious with a great city view
-There was a small kitchen with a fridge, freezer, microwave and sink.
The hotel was exactly what we needed. We were visiting family in Wakefield and needed a comfortable room to stay. It was very clean and comfy. The breakfast was yummy and the pub handy.
