Courselles-sur-mer is a sweet little place with some very nice eating establishments - great for seafood. The smell of the harbour and the sight of seabirds picking amongst the fishing trays was entertaining and scallop shells everywhere!

Good quality places to eat, good for walks along the seafront, lots to see in the town and the various areas close by related to Normandy Landings.
The town is exceptionally clean which can be said for the majority of the towns around the whole area.

It was chosen for its location on the Coast, to D-Day landing sites and to WWII cemeteries, few of which we have visited on previous French trips, to pay our respects to those who fell during W.W.II
The prices and costs of many things were much higher than where we had spent three weeks, for example the cheapest breakfast was 14 Euros, opposed to eight further South! Bit of a surprise!

i am getting on a bit the walk to the beach was a bit much for me, it is a very big beach but no amenites just blocks of rather ugly housing.
i did not find any restaurants open seems like Thursday was first day they were open and it was a pizza place which i dont like.
As to what would i avoid probably Courseulles Sur Mer!

Nice little fisherman’s place with all varieties of sea fruits. In December a city was almost without tourists. There is a beautiful memorial center about Canadian troops who were involved in WW2 actions on French soil.
People in the city often don’t speak English, some of them very friendly and some of them not so.
Beautiful beaches with exceptional low tides and beautiful gold sand and long walks.
The problem can be if you use public transport as we, to get here and leave can be a little tricky because there is only one bus line going to Caen and then you have train to Paris.

Helpful staff. Our first room was nice with a larger bathroom than expected. Our second room was not in the hotel and we were not given directions as to where is was (frustrating, as we walked around with our carry-on bags). However, they did move our larger bags from our first room to our second room which we appreciated. This room had two bedrooms which felt spacious. The bathroom was very nice as well. Breakfast was delicious and dinner the night before in the same restaurant was one of the best we had while visiting France.
Excellent location, great views from 6th floor, plenty of room for a couple, pretty much everything we needed, ideal for anyone wanting to do Normandy WW2 tours. The local restaurant was excellent, Maison Bleu. Also and very important for us was the private car park had a height limit but it had a gap just perfect to get us through with our top box. We figured that was what it was for and if so, genius and much appreciated
The property is very clean and well maintained. Our room was very spacious and had a lot of natural light. It is extremely well located, a few steps from shops, restaurants, the beach and Juneau Center while it remained very easy to park our car. The host, Marie-Pierre, is most welcoming and will answer all your questions. she uses local or homemade products for the breakfast.
Rodolphe and Laurence were wonderful hosts; delicious local baking and jellies. They woke quite early our last day to accommodate our travel schedule. we are grateful.
The house is gorgeous, great location. Hosts very helpful with recommendation for tours and restaurants.
They hosted our evening meal with local foods.... delicious and great to promote local.
Great location. Close to Juno beach centre and other landing sites, great restaurants within walking distance, and Caen only 20 min drive away. Super nice hosts who were very friendly, accommodating and helpful. Extremely clean. Lots of free parking available. Master bedroom bed was very comfortable.
I felt at home. Everything was welcoming. The place is warm and at a good location near lots of restaurant and good sites. I recommend the place to stay and enjoy the history around the place.
Loved the location. The town was pretty and interesting and had many restaurants to chose from. The apartment was very clean and new furniture and everything you need for a short stay.
Fabulous view over the port. You get the sun in the morning as you have breakfast. A short walk to a local bakery and the bulk of the restaurants. Very comfortable and well-equipped.
There was no brekkie, it is a Ghite. IT HAS NO WIFI. Be Warned!!!!!!!!!☹️☹️☹️
It is right on the beach boardwalk.
Great restaurants near by and the Canadian Juno Beach memorial.
