My recent stay at Charming Dark Lodge in River was nothing short of exceptional, marking it as the best homestay experience I have ever encountered. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality that exceeded all expectations. The highlight of our stay was undeniably our incredible host, who spared no effort in ensuring our comfort and satisfaction. From delicious lunches and dinners to delightful surprises and the most mouth-watering fish barbecue - probably the best meal I have had in the two months I have been in Sri Lanka. Beyond the culinary delights, our room was a sanctuary of comfort and style. Immaculately clean, equipped with a kitchen containing everything one could possibly need, and beautifully built and decorated. Originally intending to stay for four nights, we found ourselves captivated by the charm of Charming Dark Lodge, extending our stay to twelve nights. Departing was bittersweet, as we had grown attached to the unparalleled hospitality and the tranquil ambiance of our temporary home. A particularly memorable moment was celebrating my birthday during our stay. Our host went above and beyond to ensure it was an unforgettable occasion, adding a personal touch that truly made me feel special. Without a doubt, if I ever find myself in Sri Lanka again, Charming Dark Lodge will be my first choice for accommodation. Its unmatched hospitality, and inviting ambiance have left an indelible mark on my travel memories. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a truly exceptional homestay experience in Sri Lanka.

The property was very clean, beautiful and exactly what we saw on pictures. The staff was helpful and friendly. The location is great but not if you don't have scooter or other transport, it is not near the central way or beach by feet.

From the formal side: Very good European cuisine every day, ocean right in front of your door, amazing wild life and very attentive, approachable personnel, which suits all of your needs. From my heart: Apart from a really incredible picturesque location, which would really touch something inside your inner world, the staff’s scrupulous attention to your needs makes this stay unforgettable and gives the warmth as if you are staying at home. Rainforest Nature House ตั้งอยู่ในเดนิยายาของภูมิภาค Matara District และให้บริการที่พักพร้อมอินเทอร์เน็ตไร้สาย (WiFi) ฟรีและที่จอดรถส่วนตัวฟรี... its right in nature, super close to the forest reserve. super cozy, beautiful and tranquil place. the family who owns the place was super friendly and accomodating - they stayed up late and even made us dinner when we arriverad at around 11 pm due to issues with our drive there. both breakfast, lunch and dinner was very good, and they even made it all vegan since i wrote in the booking message that i am vegan! we went on a nice hike in the forest reserve with a friend of the family who is a tour guide(he was very knowledgable) and one of the brothers offered to come with us to help with translation since we were a bit worried about language barriers. may be good to know that there is no hot water but we honestly did not mind at all since it was hot outside

Offering free WiFi and a garden, The Whitegates Lodge is located in Midigama, 6 km from Ahangama. Galle is 26 km away. Free private parking is available on site. All units include a seating area. Very clean, comfortable place to stay. Room equipped with AC, kettle and mini fridge. Cleaning every 3 days + fresh towels. Very tasty sri lankan breakfast with fresh fruits. Nice place to seat outside in the garden. Nice beach with a bay to swim (which is rare in Midigama) and with a lot of shadow across the street. Perfect place to spend all hot day till sunset. Very nice and helpful hosts. Thank you very much for everything.
