Kilauea House is set in Volcano, 18 km from Kilauea, 45 km from Pana'ewa Rainforest Zoo, as well as 49 km from University of Hawaii, Hilo. Our hosts, Pam and Dean were extremely friendly! The room was absolutely perfect - from the decor, to the breakfast/snacks in room, and the extremely comfortable bed and outdoor firepit. We would stay here again in a heartbeat, and it was definitely the best place we stayed at for our ten day trip!

Located in Keaau, 20 km from Lava Tree State Monument, Ocean Breeze Inn provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and barbecue facilities. The apartment is very pretty and clean, it’s right next to the ocean and the views of the coast are amazing. Perfect place for birds lovers. The host is very friendly and has a lot of helpful tips. There is a laundry room, barbecue and beach items for the guests to use.

Boasting a balcony with sea views, a private beach area and water sports facilities, Ma'ukele Lodge can be found in Pahoa, close to Kaimu Beach and 21 km from Lava Tree State Monument. Raven and Mark made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. We thoroughly enjoyed talking 'cats' and already miss her beautiful fur babies. Raven accommodated to our vegan needs for breakfast and coffee. Thank you for a memorable stay, loved our chats! Would definitely stay here again.

Offering a garden and mountain view, Coffee Garden is set in Captain Cook, 6.9 km from Kealakekua Bay State Historical Park and 7.4 km from Kealakekua Bay. A wonderful stay, with fantastic hosts. Such a friendly welcome in an oasis of calm. A little way from Kona for those wanting to hit the town, but for us very worthwhile. Thanks to Ping, Stanley and Max for welcoming us into their home.

Iao Valley Inn features river views, free WiFi and free private parking, located in Wailuku, 3.2 km from Iao Valley State Park. Great location, and very good accomodations.

Featuring free WiFi throughout the property, Hilo Bay Oceanfront Bed and Breakfast offers accommodation in Hilo. Free private parking is available on site. Rooms have a private bathroom. We loved our stay here! The room was spotless and Tomami cleaned it every day while we were out. Hand made breakfast was also included which we got to eat in a small breakfast nook with ocean views. This B and B was paradise.

Situated just outside of Hakalau, 20 km from Hilo, Mahana House Country Inn is a non-smoking property and features ocean views, free WiFi access, and free private parking. The setting is amazing. We stayed in one of the cottages and watch the sunrise in the morning from our lanai. At night one only hears the birds and the quiet. We also had fresh picked oranges and longan fruit as well as avocados from the orchards on the property. Location is good for exploring the east side of Hawaii Island including Waipo Valley, several waterfalls (don't miss Akaka falls) Hilo and the volcano.

Located within 1.7 km of Rainbow Falls and 3.8 km of Lyman Museum & Mission House in Hilo, Old Hawaiian Bed and Breakfast provides accommodation with seating area. Great, quiet location. Lory was absolutely fantastic in accommodating us, and the lovely charm of the place and its gardens are great assets.

Located near everything, especially my local family. Quiet, comfortable, clean, and very reasonable price. The host, Diana and her niece Michelle were very welcoming and they offered home-grown, fresh fruits everytime.

Situated in Kailua-Kona and only 8.9 km from Kaloko-Honokohau National Historic Park, Hale Hualalai features accommodation with sea views, free WiFi and free private parking. Such sweet hosts. They are a lovely family. Also gave us a quick farm tour on our request. Rick is an amazing chef so don’t miss your breakfast here (I believe most of the ingredients come from their farm). It was nice chatting with him, he will give you good recommendations in the town. Rent a car to get around and carry a few warm clothing as it got a little cold here at night and early mornings in February.
